The Nokia 6.1 Plus has been a very successful device for HMD Global in India. This is one of the first Nokia smartphones to use the notch, and the company designed it well. It is a great looking phone, with aluminium frame and a glass back. However, it could soon be out-shadowed by the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite.

The Mi 8 Lite from Xiaomi is also a mid-range smartphone, and it was recently reported that the phone is making its way to India. Nokia 6.1 Plus vs Mi 8 Lite: Display

The Nokia 6.1 Plus comes with a Full HD+ 5.8 LCD display up front. It is large and all, but isn’t as big as the screen provided the by the Mi 8 Lite. On the Xiaomi device, you get a larger 6.2-inch LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution. Both the phones feature a notch at the top, but the one on the Nokia 6.1 Plus is slightly smaller.

The Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite, despite the Lite moniker, is a powerful mid-range smartphone. It is powered by the Snapdragon 660 processor, which is a capable mid-range chipset. On the other hand, the Nokia 6.1 Plus comes with a less powerful Snapdragon 636 processor.  Both are octa-core processors, but the Mi 8 Lite will definitely be better in terms of performance.

The Nokia 6.1 Plus has a slightly better rear camera setup, with a larger primary sensor. However, if you are more in to selfies, the Mi 8 Lite is a better phone. The Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite has a slightly better battery than the Nokia 6.1 Plus. While the Nokia phone comes with a 3060mAh battery, the Mi 8 Lite has a 3350mAh battery. This means that the Mi 8 Lite will last a little bit longer. Both phones do come with a fast charging feature as well, which is nice.

Let’s talk a little about the other hardware available on both of these phones. There’s a difference there too. The Mi 8 Lite comes with a maximum of 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. On the other hand, the Nokia 6.1 Plus gets 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. Both the phones do get a microSD card slot, but the standard configuration is better on the Mi 8 Lite.

As you can see, the Mi 8 Lite from Xiaomi is a better mid-range device than the Nokia 6.1 Plus. It does come with MIUI skin on top of the Android 8.1 Oreo software, but that’s not a deal-breaker. MIUI 10 has plenty of extra features over Android, and it is pretty smooth and fast. The Nokia 6.1 Plus is for those who are more about the design, as it gets a better design. However, if you want a colorful design, the Mi 8 Lite is better.
