New Lenovo Phone Receives 3C Certification, Could be the Upcoming Z5 Pro

Lenovo is expected to unveil a new “flagship” smartphone dubbed Z5 Pro at an event in China on November 1. Ahead of the launch event, an unannounced Lenovo smartphone carrying the model number L78031 has been certified by the 3C certification agency in China. Since the listing does not include much information, we cannot be sure if the L78031 is indeed the upcoming Z5 Pro.

Lenovo Z5 Pro Certified by 3C in China?

The L78031 3C certification does not tell us much about the device, except that it is manufactured by Lenovo and will ship with a 5V 3.0A/ 9V 2.0A/ 12V 1.5A power adapter in the box. It will also come with TD-LTE network support, just as you would expect from a modern smartphone. Apart from this, there is nothing else that the listing tells us about the device. It should also be noted that this is actually the first time that the L78031 model number has been spotted online. Since no other Lenovo smartphone has been in the rumor mill recently, there is certainly a good chance of the L78031 being the Z5 Pro.

Recently released Z5 Pro posters have suggested that the smartphone will sport a manual slider design, similar to the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3. Unlike the Mi MIX 3, however, the Z5 Pro will not have a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. If Lenovo is to be believed, the Z5 Pro will feature the most impressive in-display fingerprint sensor on a smartphone yet. It will also offer hardware-level security encryption, AI Smart Noise Reduction, and Dolby Panoramic Sound. Lenovo has been targeting the Mi MIX 3 with its posts on Weibo recently, which seems to suggest that the Z5 Pro will be a Mi MIX 3 rival with comparable hardware specifications. That would mean the smartphone will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core chipset and may come with up to 8GB of RAM. Unfortunately, however, the smartphone’s complete spec sheet is yet to be revealed. Rumors suggest the smartphone may sport a 6.42-inch sized AMOLED display, dual front and rear cameras, as well as a 4000mAh capacity battery. On the software front, the Z5 Pro will likely run on Android 9 Pie-based ZUI out of the box.
