Samsung Galaxy A6s (P30) TENAA Certification Reveals 6GB RAM, 3300mAh Battery and More

In a bid to take on the Chinese Android OEMs in the mid-range segment, Samsung recently launched the Galaxy A7 (2018), equipped with an impressive triple-camera setup. The South Korean manufacturer will soon be launching another impressive mid-range device, likely dubbed the Galaxy A6s. While Samsung has not confirmed a release date yet, the Galaxy A6s is expected to be launched alongside the camera-centric Galaxy A9s at an event on October 11th. The smartphone was recently spotted on the TENAA website, revealing its design and a few specifications. TENAA has now updated the listing with more details on the upcoming smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy A6s (P30): TENAA Certification Reveals Key Specifications, Features

The Samsung Galaxy A6s TENAA listing reveals the smartphone will feature a 5.99-inch IPS LCD display panel with 1080 x 2160 Full HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. While the TENAA listing does not specify the exact chipset, it does suggest the Galaxy A6s will be powered by an octa-core chipset clocked at 2.2 GHz. The clock speed suggests the smartphone might be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 7885 chipset, which happens to power the recently launched Galaxy A7 (2018) as well as the Galaxy A8 (2018). In terms of memory, Samsung Galaxy A6s will feature 6GB of RAM coupled with either 64GB of 128GB of internal storage. The smartphone will come with a microSD card slot, so users will have an option to expand the storage further, if they wish to.

Samsung Galaxy P30 to Reportedly Launch as Galaxy A6s; May Debut Alongside Galaxy A9 Star Pro (A9s)

In the camera department, Samsung Galaxy A6s will have a 12MP + 12MP dual-camera setup at the rear, similar to the company’s flagship smartphones. However, the smartphone will not support 4K Ultra HD video recording. The TENAA listing suggests the smartphone will only be capable of capturing videos at up to 1080p Full HD resolution. On the front of the handset will be a 5MP unit for selfies and video calls. Keeping the lights on will be a 3300mAh capacity non-removable battery, although it is not yet confirmed if the smartphone will offer fast charging support. In terms of physical dimensions, the Galaxy A6s will measure 156.14 x 76.4 x 8.39mm. The smartphone will be available in four colors in China – Black, Blue, Red, and Pink.

Samsung Galaxy A6s (P30): No In-Display Fingerprint Sensor

Many rumors had been suggesting that the Galaxy P30 would be Samsung’s first smartphone to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. However, the images posted by TENAA show the smartphone comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The back of the handset also features a dual-camera setup with the two sensors stacked vertically. While Samsung may still have a mid-range smartphone with an in-display fingerprint sensor in the works, it is now certain that the Galaxy A6s will not be the first Galaxy smartphone to have an in-display fingerprint sensor. A “Plus” variant of the Galaxy A6s is reportedly coming as well, so there is a small chance that the more expensive variant could be equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor instead of the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor on the standard Galaxy A6s.
