The Samsung Galaxy J6 smartphone was released in May this year. This is the 2018 variant of the Galaxy J6, which is a mid-range smartphone from the company. Samsung upgrades the phones every year, bringing new features and improvements and on the course launched the Galaxy J6 Plus. After the launch of the upgraded version, the Galaxy J6 has now received a price cut in India, which comes just after a few months from launch.
Samsung Galaxy J6: Price Cut in India
This isn’t the first time that Samsung has slashed the price of the Galaxy J6 smartphone in India. The phone had received a price cut in August as well. In the latest price cut, the phone has become even cheaper.
The 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant of the Galaxy J6 is now available at Rs. 12,490. This variant was previously sold at Rs.12,990. The 64GB variant with 4GB RAM is now available for Rs.13,990, which is a Rs.1000 price decrease from the older price tag of Rs.14,990.

Samsung Galaxy J6: Specifications, Features
The Galaxy J6 comes with a 5.6-inch Super AMOLED display with thin bezels, HD+ resolution, and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by the Samsung made Exynos 7870 processor, which is an octa-core chipset. It’s not bad, but other similarly priced phones have better hardware, especially the new Realme 2 Pro. The processor is coupled with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. A microSD card slot is available for adding more storage. The phone features a single rear camera, which has a 13MP resolution. On the front, you get an 8MP camera for selfies. Yes, the cameras on this device aren’t anything great. A fingerprint sensor is available at the back, and the phone is backed by a 3000mAh battery. There’s no fast charging support available, unfortunately.
Samsung has been launching plenty of new phones in the country, most recently the Galaxy A7. It also launched the Galaxy J6 Plus, a slightly bigger version of the Galaxy J6. The company also has an event scheduled for October 11, where it will be launching more A-series phones.
Samsung Galaxy J6 Plus: Specifications, Features
The Galaxy J6 Plus was announced last month, and it went on sale late last month. This is also a mid-range phone, but with slightly better specs than the standard Galaxy J6. It features a 6-inch Super AMOLED display but still has an HD+ resolution. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 450 processor, which is coupled with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Yes, you do get a microSD card slot, for adding more storage.
The J6 Plus gets a dual-camera setup, instead of a single camera on the standard J6. There’s a 13MP primary sensor, which is paired with a 5MP sensor. On the front, there’s an 8MP camera with f/1.9 aperture. A 3300mAh battery powers the phone, and the fingerprint sensor is placed underneath the power button on the side. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo, with the latest Samsung Experience UI on top.
There’s nothing much to take home here either, and you can do better with a Realme 2 Pro or the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro. The Galaxy J6 series isn’t doing that great in India, and definitely needs a boost in terms of features. Samsung is bringing out new A series phones with unique features to boost its market share. The company will have to do something similar with the J series phones as well.
