In January this year, Chinese smartphone maker Vivo announced the world’s first smartphone with an in-display fingerprint sensor, the X20 Plus UD. More recently, the company made the feature more accessible by bringing it to its V-series line. The company is now expected to launch yet another mid-range Android smartphone with an in-display fingerprint sensor, Vivo X21S. While Vivo is yet to confirm a specific release date, it is currently being speculated that the X21S may be launched in China on or before November 15. Ahead of the rumored launch date, Twitter leakster MadSimar has shed some light on the smartphone’s pricing for the Chinese market.
Vivo X21S Pricing Tipped Ahead of Launch in China Later This Month
If the leakster is to be believed, the Vivo X21S will be priced at 2,700 yuan (INR 28,500 approx.) in China for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. Apart from the price, the leakster has not shared any other information with regards to the hardware specifications or key features of the upcoming Vivo smartphone. As of now, the smartphone is not expected to be offered in any other memory configuration. Since Vivo launched the X21 in India earlier this year, there is a strong possibility of the X21S making its way to the country a few weeks after its debut in China. If Vivo does bring the X21S to India, we expect it to be priced somewhere around INR 25,000. However, the smartphone’s leaked specifications suggest it will not be very different from V11 Pro.

The Vivo X21S was recently listed on the China Telecom website in two colors – Millennium Pink and Starry Night Black. Going by the listing, the smartphone will be available for purchase starting November 15th. There is definitely a good chance that Vivo may hold a dedicated launch event for the X21S in China on or before November 15. We can expect an official confirmation from Vivo to arrive within the next few days.
Vivo X21S Rumored Specifications
Going by the latest leaks, Vivo X21S will come with a teardrop notch similar to the other recent launches from Vivo. While the current Vivo X21 features a 6.28-inch sized display, the X21S is going to sport a bigger 6.41-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 2340 Full HD+ resolution and a thinner chin at the top. Thanks to the taller 19.5:9 aspect ratio and slimmer bezels, the X21S is expected to have a screen-to-body ratio of over 90%. Powering the Vivo X21S will be an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE processor clocked at up to 2.2 GHz with an Adreno 512 GPU. As mentioned above, the octa-core processor will be coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
In the camera department, Vivo X21S will have a 12MP + 5MP dual-camera setup at the rear, expected to be the same setup seen on the V11 Pro. As shown by leaked images of the smartphone that have surfaced online recently, both sensors will be stacked vertically with an LED flash module below them. For selfies, the Vivo X21S is likely to come with an AI-powered 25MP selfie snapper on the front. Fueling the handset will be a 3300mAh capacity battery with fast charging support. On the software front, we expect the X21S to ship with Android 8.1 Oreo-based Funtouch OS out of the box.
