OnePlus has announced that it has partnered with Swedish audio technology Dirac Research once again to bring new audio technologies to its latest flagship smartphone. The Chinese company believes that integration of Dirac’s audio technologies will help the OnePlus 6T stand out from its rivals and make it more appealing to all the audiophiles out there. OnePlus and Dirac Research have been working together since three years now. OnePlus 6T’s predecessor, the OnePlus 6 also includes Dirac’s audio technologies. It is not clear why the OnePlus 6T did not ship with Dirac sound technologies right out of the box.
OnePlus 6T Set to Gain Dirac HD Sound and Dirac Power Sound Technologies Soon
Dirac Research is currently working on optimizing the OnePlus 6T’s micro-speaker to allow it to produce a cleaner sound. Since the OnePlus 6T is the first OnePlus smartphone to not have a 3.5mm headphone jack, the team at Dirac will be paying special attention to optimize the output through the USB Type-C port. The Dirac HD Sound technology is capable of correcting impulse and magnitude frequency response, optimizing the output to suit each headphone based on acoustic measurements. Unlike EQ or effect-based solutions, Dirac HD Sound claims to offer a fundamental improvement in sound quality.
Apart from Dirac HD Sound, the OnePlus 6T will also gain Dirac Power Sound technology. Dirac Power Sound combines various technologies that work together to enhance the audio performance. Dirac claims the technology uses frequency and impulse response correction along with bass optimization to allow even small speakers to deliver a powerful sound. However, Dirac Power Sound currently works only with the built-in speaker. It does not optimize any Bluetooth speaker connected to the smartphone. Once the Dirac HD Sound and Dirac Power Sound technologies are rolled out to the OnePlus 6T as part of a software update, you can expect the smartphone to deliver an even more enjoyable audio experience.
OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition to Arrive With 10GB of RAM
OnePlus recently announced its collaboration with automotive manufacturer McLaren to release a limited edition version of the OnePlus 6T. According to our sources, the upcoming OnePlus 6T McLaren Limited Edition will come equipped with a whopping 10GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone will be launched in India on December 12 at an event in Mumbai.
