Xiaomi M1901F9E and M1901F9T Clear 3C Certification in China, Could be Upcoming Redmi Smartphones

Chinese certification agency 3C has certified two unannounced Xiaomi smartphones. The smartphones bear the model numbers M1901F9T and M1901F9E. Going by the “M19” at the beginning of the model numbers, it looks like the two smartphones will be part of Xiaomi’s 2019 lineup. And while we cannot be sure at this point, there is a good chance of both the smartphones will be part of the company’s Redmi series.

Xiaomi M1901F9E and M1901F9T Smartphones Certified by 3C in China

The M1901F9E and M191F9T 3C listings do not reveal any interesting details regarding the hardware specifications of the two smartphones. However, going by the power adapter specifications, both models will only support 5V 2A charging, which makes it quite clear that they are not mid-range or flagship-grade smartphones. Instead, they are expected to be part of the budget-friendly Redmi series. Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 Pro successor in August this year but a successor to the Redmi Note 5 is yet to arrive. There is a possibility that one of the two smartphones certified by the 3C certification agency in China could be the Redmi 6 Plus. The current Redmi Note 5 was launched as the Redmi 5 Plus in China last year, so the Redmi Note 6 will probably debut as the Redmi 6 Plus in China. Since there is no information available regarding the hardware specifications of the two smartphones currently, all we can do is wait for them to show up on TENAA and other certification websites. The Redmi Note 6 Pro has not been launched in China either, although we do not think Xiaomi would launch it is a 2019 model. It is likely that the Redmi Note 6 Pro will be formally launched in China before the end of the year. Xiaomi was expected to launch the smartphone on November 06 but the launch event ended up being cancelled for some reason.

Similar to the latest Redmi series smartphones, we expect the M1901F9E and M1901F9T smartphones to feature Full Screen displays with an 18:9 or higher aspect ratio. On the software front, they will likely ship with Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 10 out of the box.
