[Exclusive] Vivo NEX May be Priced at €849 in Europe, Expected to Launch Soon

The Vivo NEX was the first commercial version of the Vivo Apex concept phone that the Chinese brand flaunted first at MWC 2018 this year. Vivo debuted the handset in China under the NEX moniker in June and the handset also quickly made it to India. However, the ultra-bezel-less smartphone is to make it to the US and Europe thus far even though Vivo has introduced the handet internationally in a number of markets including Russia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. However, we’ve now got hold of the alleged European pricing of the Vivo NEX.

As per our sources, the Vivo NEX might be priced at €849 ($967 approx). That’s pretty steep considering both the Chinese and Indian prices which are Rs. 44,990 ($652) and 3,898 Yuan ($609) respectively. Also, even if we do have the pricing, we still do not know the exact launch date of the device and the regions where the Vivo NEX will debut in Europe. The pricing info comes as leaks surrounding the next iteration of the Vivo NEX have started to surface online. Which is why we would suggest taking the information with a grain of salt.

The Vivo NEX was the very first handset to employ a pop-up camera on an Android smartphone. This allowed Vivo, in conjunction with some other tech, to integrate an extremely thin-bezel display on the front with an above 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. Speaking of which, it is a 6.59-inch full-HD+ (1080×2316) Super AMOLED ‘Ultra FullView’ display. Another highlighted feature, although not the very first, was the in-screen fingerprint reader which drew attention to the NEX line. Besides these two features, the Vivo NEX packed flagship-grade specifications under the hood to justify the competitive $652 price tag. It also features USB Type-C, a 4000mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support that powers Android Oreo, which is of course, based on the latest version of FunTouch OS.

It boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC clocked up to 2.8GHz coupled with 8GB of RAM. The rear has a dual camera setup combo of 12MP + 5MP while the front has a single 8MP sensor. Vivo announced the 128GB version in India while the European variants are not known yet. Since the pricing has surfaced, we expect some official info soon.
