Oppo has sent out a press release announcing that it has launched the Oppo A1k in India today. The Oppo A1k comes in only variant — 2GB RAM + 32GB storage. And it costs INR 8,490, making the Oppo A1k the most affordable Oppo smartphone that is currently on sale in India. The Oppo A1k will go on sale starting today from Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal, Tata Cliq, PayTM Mall, and all offline stores. For your information, the Oppo A1k was first launched in Russia. India is the second country where the brand has launched the A1k. Let us have a look at the specifications of the Oppo A1k.
Oppo A1k Specifications
The Oppo A1k features a 6.1-inch IPS LCD, which has an HD+ resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass protection, and a V-shaped notch at the top. Thanks to the minimal bezels, the device has 87.43% screen to body ratio.
Powering the Oppo A1k is the MediaTek Helio P22 SoC (A.K.A MT6762R), which has an octa-core CPU (Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.0GHz) and PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The device is available in only one configuration – 2GB RAM + 32GB storage. There is a microSD card slot to expand the storage. The Oppo A1k comes with Android 9 Pie operating system, which has Color OS 6.0 UI customization.
Unlike most smartphones nowadays which have a dual-camera setup at the back, the Oppo A1k has a single rear-facing camera; it is an 8MP unit with f/2.2 aperture. On paper, the camera hardware looks quite disappointing compared to other similarly priced smartphones. The front-facing camera hardware is not great either; it is a 5MP unit with f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera can record Full HD videos, and the front-facing camera can record HD videos.
The Oppo A1k sports a 4000mAh battery. And according to Oppo, the device “comes with 10W charger which provides twice fast charging compared to 5W standard fast charger.” What Oppo means to say is that while most other affordable smartphones come with a 5W charger in the box, the Oppo A1k comes with a 10W charger in the box. However, I don’t think that other smartphones in the same price range come with a 5W charger; most of them come with a 10W charger. This leads us to believe that what Oppo is saying is just a marketing gimmick.
For connectivity, the Oppo A1k has dual-SIM, dual-4G, dual-VoLTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, microUSB port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
