If you are looking to buy an affordable smartphone this summer, today is probably the best day to do it. Two of India’s most popular smartphone brands – Xiaomi and Realme – will hold the first sales of their recently announced handsets in India later today. While Xiaomi will start selling the Redmi 7, Realme is all set to begin sales of the Realme 3 Pro. Both the handsets are slated to go on sale at noon today, April 29, 2019.

Xiaomi Redmi 7 Specifications, Price in India, Launch Offers
The Redmi 7 was introduced alongside the Redmi Y3 just last week in India. The handset is an entry-level phone that is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 chipset. The phone is sold in two versions, a base 2GB+32GB version for INR 7,999 and a 3GB+32GB version that goes for INR 8,999. The Redmi 7 boasts of a 6.2-inch LCD panel with HD+ resolution in the 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone gets a stylish gradient design at the back and unlike the Redmi Note 7, gets a triple slot that can accommodate two SIM cards and one microSD card at the same time. As expected, the handset supports dual VoLTE technology. The camera setup on the Redmi 7 includes a primary 12-megapixel camera mated to a 2-megapixel depth sensor and an 8-megapixel front-facing fixed focus camera for selfies and video calls. The Redmi 7 also gets a large 4,000 mAh battery that should be more than capable of powering the phone through an entire day of relatively heavy usage. The Redmi 7 will come with a bundled Jio offer wherein users will be able to avail double Data & instant cashback benefits worth INR 2,400.

Realme 3 Pro Specifications, Price in India, Launch Offers
Unlike the Redmi 7 which is an affordable smartphone priced below the INR 10,000 mark, the Realme 3 Pro is a true blue competitor to the Redmi Note 7 Pro. The Realme 3 Pro finds itself powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC which on paper is a nitch above the Snapdragon 675 chipset used on the Redmi Note 7 Pro. The handset boasts of a large 6.3-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels in the 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a dewdrop notch at the top. The panel also gets a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The camera setup on the Realme 3 Pro consists of a primary 16-megapixel +5-megapixel setup with the primary sensor being the IMX 519 from Sony that is also used on the OnePlus 6T. The front-facing camera on the Realme 3 Pro uses a 25-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls. The phone packs in a large 4,045 mAh battery with support for VOOC flash charge. The phone supports dual VoLTE and has plenty of connectivity options as well. On the software front, the Realme 3 Pro runs Android 9 Pie underneath Color 6 which, of late, has seen plenty of improvements. As for launch offers, users will be able to get 15% super cash cashback – up to a maximum of INR 1500 by paying through Mobikwik when they make the purchase today. The phone is offered in three versions, a base 4GB+64GB version for INR 13,999, a 6GB+64GB version for INR 15,999 and a 6GB+128GB version for 16,999.
