Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A10 variant with model number SM-A102U recently passed through the FCC. While the FCC listing did not reveal any key hardware specifications of the upcoming smartphone, it did suggest Samsung might soon make the A10e official. The Galaxy A10e has now popped up on the Geekbench benchmark database, revealing some hardware details.
Samsung Galaxy A10e Geekbench Listing Reveals an Exynos 7884 Chipset
The SM-A102U listing on Geekbench tells us the smartphone has an Exynos 7885 chipset under the hood with eight physical cores. However, going by the actual benchmark scores and the base frequency listed on Geekbench, the smartphone will have the same Exynos 7884 chipset under its hood as the standard A10. The Galaxy A10 is also reported to have an Exynos 7885 chipset by the Geekbench benchmark. As you can see in the screenshot below, the Galaxy A10e scored 1,163 points in the single-core test and 3,581 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench. Both the single-core and multi-core scores are similar to the Galaxy A10.
In addition to having the same Exynos 7884 chipset under its hood, the Galaxy A10e will also come with an identical 2GB of RAM as the Galaxy A10. Unsurprisingly, the Geekbench listing suggests the smartphone will be launched with the Android 9 Pie operating system out of the box. Early rumors had suggested the Galaxy A10e could be a more affordable version of the Galaxy A10 with a less powerful processor inside. However, the Geekbench listing seems to suggest the A10e will be as impressive as the Galaxy A10 in the performance department. It is possible that the A10e will be a downgrade compared to the A10 in some other areas such as the display size. Along with the Galaxy A10e, Samsung is working on another Galaxy A10 variant bearing model number SM-A107. It is being speculated that the SM-A107 could debut as the Galaxy A10s.
