Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G Bags FCC Certification, Images Appear on TENAA Ahead of Launch

The 5G version of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is said to make its debut in August alongside the Galaxy Note20 series. This upcoming foldable clamshell smartphone from Samsung has been leaked multiple times so far. Today, we get to know more about the Galaxy Z Flip 5G as we have spotted it on the FCC certification platform and the TENAA listing of the phone that went live a few days ago has been updated with full specifications and images of the device.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G gets FCC certification

The FCC certification that we have come across is for the SM-F707B variant of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. While the certification has a bunch of documents, this is what we have found.

First is a document that has three screenshots of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. The first screenshot is of the settings menu of the device. It shows that the Galaxy Z Flip 5G has the standard settings menu that we see in Samsung smartphones nowadays. The second screenshot shows the About phone screen of the device. It mentions the model number of the smartphone, the SM-F707B. The third screenshot is of the Status menu of the phone. This menu shows that the phone has a 15W charging support.

The second document is an EMC report of the device. It reveals that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G that has been used for testing has been manufactured in Korea. This document also confirms that the Galaxy Z Flip 5G will have two batteries, EB-BF707ABY (main) and EB-BF708ABY (sub). It also has mentions of Samsung YBD-19HS headphones, Samsung EP-DF700BBE data cable, and Samsung EP-TA200 travel adapter (charger) but there is no confirmation if these accessories will ship with the device.

Another FCC document shows that the Galaxy Z Flip 5G has a dual-band Wi-Fi ax, a step up from the Wi-Fi ac support in the Galaxy Z Flip 4G.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G full specifications and images revealed on TENAA

The TENAA listing reveals the images of the Galaxy Z Flip from all angles. As you can see in these images, the design of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G is unchanged from the 4G version of the phone. It has the same foldable design, a center punch-hole display on the inside, a small display on the outside, a dual-camera setup at the rear, a fingerprint scanner and volume button to the right-hand side of the device, and a SIM card tray to the left-hand side of the device, just like that with the Galaxy Z Flip 4G.

The updated listing of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G on TENAA reveals that the phone has two screens, a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with 2636 x 1080 pixels resolution and a 1.05-inch AMOLED panel with 300 x 112 pixels resolution. According to the listing, the phone has a dual-camera setup at the rear with a 12MP primary sensor and a 12MP secondary sensory. It reveals that the Galaxy Z Flip 5G has an octa-core processor with 3.09GHz, which is most probably the Snapdragon 865+ SoC. In terms of memory, the phone has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. On the software front, it comes with the Android 10 OS. The listing also reveals that the Galaxy Z Flip 5G has two batteries, 2500mAh + 704mAh, SA/NSA 5G connectivity, a fingerprint scanner, and fast charging.
