Vivo’s popular sub-brand iQOO, earlier today, launched of two new smartphones – the iQOO 5 and the iQOO 5 Pro in China. Both the handsets are successors to the company’s iQOO 3 series handsets from last year and come loaded with a long list of features. Both the handsets feature flagship grade hardware as well. Let us now take a closer look at the specifications, features and other aspects of the new iQOO 5 series phones. Note that iQOO will start selling the iQOO 5 Pro starting September while the iQOO 5 will go on sale later this month. There is a good chance that we could see both these phones launch in India soon.
iQOO 5, iQOO 5 Pro: Variants, launch price, expected price in India
The iQOO 5 comes in three variants in China – as follows:
- 8GB+128GB: ¥3998 / ₹43,130 / €486
- 12GB+128GB: ¥4298 / ₹46,370 / €523
- 12GB+256GB: ¥4598 / ₹49,600 / €560
Likewise, there are two variants of the iQOO 5 Pro
- 8GB+256GB: ¥4998 / ₹54,000 / €608
- 12GB+256GB: ¥5498 / ₹59,300 / €670
Note that the afforementioned India prices are mere guesses looking at the current exchange rates. The final price will almost certainly be different.
Let’s now delve into the specifications of both these handsets
iQOO 5, iQOO 5 Pro: Specifications, key features
Since both the handsets are almost similar when it comes to specificatins and features on offer, let’s check out the key similarities and differences between the two.
Similarities
Both the iQOO 5 and the iQOO 5 Pro come powered by the same processor – which happens to be the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragonn 865 SoC. This phone gets the powerful Adreno 650 GPU for graphics and is currently the fastest CPU on offer for Android powered devices. While there are differences in the storage capacities on offer for both the handsets, they are similar in that both the phones use the UFS 3.1 standard for data transfer.
The display size and type on both the handsets remain the same. They both use a 6.56-inch AMOLED panel that measures 6.56-inches across in the 19.8: 9 aspect ratio and aresolution of 2376 x 1080 pixels. The opanel supports HDR10+ ans has a peak contrast ratio of 6000000:1.Both the displays support 120Hz refresh rate as well.
The primary, secondary and front facing cameras on both the handsets also happen to be identical. Both the handsets get a 50MP primary camera and a 13MP secondary ultra wide angle camera. At the front, both the phones also get a 16MP selfie shooter- again, identical.
Both the phones are 5G ready and support almost the same network types.
Differences
The major differences between the iQOO 5 and the iQOO 5 Pro are in the camera and batetry department. For example, the third camera on the iQOO 5 is the 13MP depth camera while the third camera onthe iQOO 5 Pro is an 8MP periscope camera. The iQOO 5 Pro als suports OIS while yhe iQOO 5 gets by with EIS.
Moving on to the battery capacity, the iQOO 5 gets the larger batetry among the two with a capacity of 4500mAh while the iQOO 5 Pro gets a smaller 4,000mAh cell. However, it is the latter that features support for 120W fast charging. The iQOO 5, on the otehr hand, gets a 55W charger – which mind you isn’t really that slow.
As of now, there is no word as to when we cane expect iQOO India to launch both the handsets in the country.
