PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty: Mobile are one of the most popular online smartphone games across the globe. However, both the battle royal games lost to Free Fire as a mobile game of the year. Yes! You read it correctly Free Fire becomes the Esports Mobile Game of the year. As per the reports, this is the first time the mobile category was added in the history of Esports Awards.

The game was selected to be the winner in the category because of its fast-paced gameplay and compatibility with low-end smartphones. The game has managed to gain 225 million downloads in the first three quarters of 2020, as per Sensor Tower report.

Free Fire was directly pitted against the popular games Call of Duty Mobile and PUBG Mobile which was one of the most surprising parts of this category.
