BGMI Has a Major Hacker Problem, Pros Call for Devs to Take Serious Action Against Cheating

BGMI is, by every metric, one of the most popular games in the country, and the argument could be made that is indeed the most popular game in the country. As is evidenced by the millions of pre-registrated players before launch, and the rising player count the game continues to boast of. However, there is a multi-headed monster that has begun to rear its head, and it is one which can hurt the game and its popularity in a way that will be quite detrimental.

Hacking and cheating in video games can be one of the biggest reasons for the downfall of the game, as it pretty much drives away the core playerbase of a game simply because the game is virtually rendered unplayable. BGMI devs, Krafton, have been quite vocal against their stance on cheating, even banning over 3 lakh accounts in a matter of a single week.

While Krafton has been active in their imposition of anti-cheating measures, it seems like hacking in BGMI continues to be a major issue. Now, even big-time BGMI pros such as Mortal, Sc0ut, and Jonnathan Amaral, have weighed in on social media – urging Krafton to step up their anti-cheat measures.

BGMI hacker problem might need a stronger anti-cheat system for Krafton

On PC, major online multiplayer games like Call of Duty, Battlefield, DOTA, or League of Legends are able to tackle hacker and cheating issues through the implementation of an anti-cheat system. This helps the community from devolving into a toxic wasteland full of cheaters, which in turn, helps the game stay popular as more players will be interested in trying it out for the first time or recommending it to new players.

BGMI, in its current state, is packed to the brim with all sorts of hackers and cheats, meaning every other session is becomes one giant chore rather than a fun experience. While BGMI has anti-cheat measures in place to detect third-party software, which immediately flags the account – leading to bans and suspensions.

Yet, somehow, it doesn’t feel like that alone will be able to purge the game of hackers and cheaters, so perhaps, maybe it is time for a proper, full-fleged, anti-cheat system software/app for mobile gaming as well. While the realities and technical aspects of it are sure to be a challenge, BGMI simply cannot afford to have an as toxic a playerbase as it does currently – as nothing can quite kill a game faster than a hacker problem.
