Samsung Galaxy M52 5G vs iQOO Z5 vs Realme GT Master Edition: Price in India, Specifications, Features Compared

Samsung and iQOO both introduced their new mid-budget smartphones in India this week. iQOO unveiled the iQOO Z5 5G in India whereas Samsung launched the Galaxy M52 5G. Both the smartphones were launched in the sub Rs 30k segment and offers top-of-the-line features in its segment. But the Realme GT Master Edition, launched earlier, has proven its value in this segment already. All three phones feature a Snapdragon 778G SoC under the hood. With so many options out there in the mid-budget range, one question surely baffle everyone: is the Samsung Galaxy M52 5G better than the iQOO Z5 and Realme GT Master Edition?

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G vs iQOO Z5 vs Realme GT Master Edition: Price in India

Starting with the Galaxy M52 5G, it comes in two different storage variants: 6GB+128GB priced at Rs 29,999 and 8GB+128GB variant priced at Rs 31,999. However, the company is offering an introductory offer under which you can get 6GB+128GB variant for Rs 26,999 and the 8GB+128GB variant for Rs 28,999 during the Great Indian Festival sale.

The iQOO Z5 5G 8GB+128GB is priced at Rs 23,999 while the 12GB+256GB option is priced at Rs. 26,990. Amazon is offering Rs. 3000 off on iQOO Z5 5G if you use an HDFC bank card and Amazon Coupons, this coupon will be valid during the Great Indian Festival Sale.

The Realme GT Master Edition price in India starts at Rs 25,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage version. The 8GB RAM and 128GB option is priced at Rs 27,999, while the 8GB RAM + 256GB option comes with a price tag of Rs 29,999.

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G vs iQOO Z5 vs Realme GT Master Edition: Design

The Samsung Galaxy M52 5G has a plastic back with a line-based texture. Samsung claims that the Galaxy M52 5G is 21% sleeker than its predecessor and is just 7.4mm thick. On the front, it has a punch-hole in the center for the selfie camera. The Galaxy M52 5G comes in Blazing Black and Icy Blue colours.

The iQOO Z5 features a 3D curved back with Frosted texture, which the company claims to be excellent for gripping. The back is plastic here in the iQOO Z5. On the front, it has a punch-hole in the center. It is available in two different colours: Arctic Dawn and Mystic Space.

Coming to the design, the Realme GT Master Edition hits out of the park with a special suitcase type design, which is designed by Naoto Fukasawa. The phone is available in Voyager Grey colour option and offers a suitcase like design at the rear panel, which the company claims is made of concave vegan leather. The phone also comes in Luna White and Cosmos Black colour options. It has a tiny hole-punch cutout in top-left for the front camera.

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G vs iQOO Z5 vs Realme GT Master Edition: Display

Coming to the display, the Samsung Galaxy M52 5G has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. The display has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for added screen protection against scratches and drops. It also offers 120Hz refresh rate.

The iQOO Z5 comes with a 6.67-inch 120Hz FHD+ LCD Display. Apart from that, it’s a HDR 10 certified 120Hz display with 240Hz touch sampling rate. 

The Realme GT Master Edition is loaded with a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. The screen comes with 120Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, 91.7 per cent screen-to-body ratio, 1000nits brightness, and 100 per cent DCI-P3 colour gamut.

All the three phones in this comparison are powered by the 6nm-based Snapdragon 778G processor. The Snapdragon 778G on the Galaxy M52 5G is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It comes with extra 4GB of virtual RAM which can be used for better performance. It runs on OneUI 3.1, which is based on Android 11. The Samsung Galaxy M52 5G has an eMMC 5.1 storage type and the storage can be extended upto 1TB via MicroSD card. 

The Realme GT Master Edition, powered by the Snapdragon 778 5G processor also gets up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage option. The Master Edition comes with extra 5GB of virtual RAM.  It runs on Realme UI 2.0, which is based on Android 11

The iQOO Z5 comes with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage option which makes it different from others. Another thing to note is that it has UFS 3.1 storage and enhanced LPDDR5 RAM configuration which makes the data transfer and app loading faster. For gaming, the iQOO Z5 comes with 4D Game vibration with linear motors for better vibration while playing games in landscape mode.

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G vs iQOO Z5 vs Realme GT Master Edition: Cameras

In terms of cameras, the Samsung Galaxy M52 5G comes with a 64MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor and a 5MP depth sensor. For selfies, there is a 32MP front camera.

The Realme GT Master Edition packs a triple-camera setup with a combination of a 64MP primary lens. It also features an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP macro shooter. For selfies, you get a 32MP shooter. 

The iQOO Z5 comes with a triple camera shooter with 64MP f1.79 main camera, an 8MP f2.2 ultra wide angle lens and a 2MP macro lens. For selfies, it has a 16MP f/2.45 front camera.

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G vs iQOO Z5 vs Realme GT Master Edition: Battery

In terms of battery, the Galaxy M52 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery with support of 25W charging. However, you will get a 15W charger in the retail box.

The iQOO Z5 comes with a 5000 mAH battery with fast charging support of 44W. iQOO claims that the Z5 battery can charge upto 50% in 26 min.

The Realme GT Master Edition packs a 4300mAh battery with fast charging support of 65W, fastest in this segment. Realme claims that the Realme GT Master Edition can be charged from 0 to 100% in just 33 mins.

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G vs iQOO Z5 vs Realme GT Master Edition: Verdict

The competition is very tough among these competitors. Talking about each smartphone, the Realme GT Master Edition offers premium leather finish with suitcase type design while the other two offer you a plastic back.

In terms of display, both Samsung Galaxy M52 5G and the Realme GT Master Edition offers a 120Hz AMOLED display. However, the iQOO Z5 lacks an AMOLED screen and comes with an IPS LCD screen.

All the phones are equal in terms of performance and come with extra virtual RAM. However, iQOO Z5 takes the lead with enhanced LPDDR5 RAM configuration and more gaming based features. It also comes up to 12GB of RAM, which is a segment-leading feature. 

The Realme GT Master Edition offers the fastest charging speed in this segment whereas the Galaxy M52 5G offers the slowest. The iQOO Z5 falls in between.

All three phones have almost identical camera configurations. If you are someone who likes to play games, then iQOO Z5 5G could be a perfect choice for you, whereas if you are looking for a stylish phone with a good display and decent performance, you can go for the Realme GT Master Edition. The Samsung Galaxy M52 5G lacks fast charging support and fast storage configurations in this segment, however, it has the company’s own Knox Security for added security and NFC support. That all being said, it all boils down to consumer preference.
