The Moto G31 was recently launched in India as the latest budget phone from the brand in India. The device is priced under Rs 15,000 and will rival the Xiaomi Redmi 10 Prime and Realme 8i. The Moto G31 is the company’s first phone in the G series with an AMOLED display. The device also comes with other features like a large 5,000mAh battery, 20W fast charging, 50MP main camera, water-repellent design, and more. Starting off with the pricing, the Moto G31 is priced at Rs 12,999 for the 4GB+64GB variant and Rs 14,999 for the 6GB+128GB variant. The Redmi Note 10 Prime 4GB+64GB costs Rs 12,499 while the 6GB+128GB variant is priced at Rs 14,999. Lastly, the Realme 8i 4GB+64GB variant costs Rs 13,999 and the 6GB+128GB will cost you Rs 15,999. The Moto G31 and Realme 8i are available on Flipkart while the Redmi 10 Prime is available on Amazon.

In terms of design, the Moto G31 measures 8.49mm thick and weighs 180 grams. The Redmi 10 Prime is 9.6mm thick as it comes with a larger battery and weighs 192 grams. The Realme 8i on the other hand weighs 194 grams and measures 8.5mm. In terms of colour options, the Moto G31 comes in Meteorite Grey and Sterling Blue colourways, the Redmi 10 Prime is offered in Phantom Black, Bifrost Blue, and Astral White colours, and the Realme 8i comes in Space Black and Space Purple. All three phones have a plastic body.
The trio also come with a 3.5mm headphone jack and punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. The Redmi and Realme devices come with a side-mounted fingerprint reader while the Moto G31 comes with a rear-mounted scanner.

Things get more interesting in the display segment. The Moto G31 is the only device to offer an AMOLED display here. It comes with a 6.47-inch Full HD+ screen, but the refresh rate is limited to 60Hz. The Redmi 10 Prime flaunts a 6.5-inch FHD+ 90Hz LCD display and the Realme 8i features a 6.6-inch 120Hz screen with Full-HD+ resolution.
The Redmi 10 Prime also features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection while the other two miss out on the same. The Moto G31 has a 20:9 aspect ratio with an 88.80% screen-to-body ratio and upto 700 nits brightness and the Realme 8i comes with a 20.1:9 aspect ratio with 90.8% screen-to-body ratio and up to 600 nits brightness.

All three devices are powered by MediaTek Helio series chipsets. The Moto G31 uses the Helio G85 while the Redmi 10 Prime is powered by Helio G88 and the Realme 8i sports a Helio G96 SoC. All three devices offer up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The Moto G31 comes with a hybrid slot while Redmi and Realme offer a dedicated MicroSD card slot.
The Moto G31 runs near-stock Android 11 out of the box, the Redmi 10 Prime runs Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 on top and lastly, the Realme 8i runs the Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0. Since these phones run on Helio SoCs, there is no support for 5G on any of these phones.

The Redmi 10 Prime also comes with a 50Mp f/1.8 main camera followed by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. It houses an 8MP front-facing camera.
Lastly, the Realme 8i brings a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. Notably, the device misses out on an ultra-wide-angle camera. However, it features a 16MP selfie camera.

The Moto G31 is backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit with 20W fast charging. The Redmi 10 Prime houses a massive 6,000mAh battery unit with 18W fast charging (22.5W in-box charger) whule the Realme 8i boasts a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. All three phones come with a Type-C port for charging and the Redmi 10 Prime also supports reverse charging.

To conclude, the Moto G31 is a great option under Rs 15,000 as it brings an AMOLED display, fast charging, good cameras, and a lightweight design.
