PUBG New State: Players Under 17 Barred From Playing iOS Version Due to Change in Age Rating

Krafton launched PUBG New State for players in India and other parts of the world. The game arrives as a sequel of PUBG Mobile with improved graphics and gameplay. Unlike Battlegrounds Mobile India, PUBG New State is not exclusive to Indian players only. This means that players can team up and compete against other gamers from different countries. While this sounds fun, what might not make a few players happy is the age restriction limit. Krafton’s new game cannot be played by users below the age of 17 years.

PUBG New State age restriction

Krafton stated that it was forced to do so due to the required age rating for PUBG New State on the iOS App Store. “A situation beyond our control developed that required the age rating of PUBG: NEW STATE on the App Store to be changed to 17 and up. This means that any Survivors under the age of 17 will not be able to access or play the game, regardless of whether or not they pre-ordered,” Krafton said.

It is worth noting that the game was open for pre-orders for those above the age of 12 on both Android and iOS. On Android, the age restriction has been set to 16 years.

The game hasn’t had the best start upon its rollout. First, Krafton made the game available on Android’s Google Play Store. Players who managed to download the game could not play the battleground due to server-side issues. Krafton also released a list of bugs and glitches spotted in the game minutes after it was launched. The iOS app was released a few hours after the Android app. Despite the delay, iOS users experienced issues with login and gameplay. Krafton has promised to resolve these issues as soon as possible.

PUBG New State comes with many new features and updates. It gets a new 8×8 map called Troi. The battle royale also introduces new weapons, skins, vehicles and other mechanics for an improved gameplay experience. Click here to check our PUBG New State review.
