The Edge+ 2023 has been listed on the Bluetooth SIG certification website ahead of the launch. The listing on Bluetooth SIG suggests that the phone might launch very soon. let’s take a look at what we know about the Motorola Edge+ 2023.

Motorola Edge+ 2023 Bluetooth SIG

The Motorola Edge+ 2023 will be a premium smartphone offering. The phone has been spotted on the Bluetooth SIG certification website. It is listed alongside the Moto X40 and Edge 40 Pro, which suggests that the phone could be a rebranded version of the Chinese flagship.

As per the listing, the Edge+ 2023 has the model number XT2301-1. It reveals that the phone has support for Bluetooth 5.3. The Edge 40 Pro has the model number XT2301-4, whereas the already available Moto X40 5G has the model number XT2301-5.

Motorola launched the Edge+ (2022) in the US as a rebadged Moto X30, aka the Edge 30 Pro. Therefore, it would be a surprise if the same trend continues this year.

In that case, the Edge+ 2023 will have a 6.67-inch OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. The phone’s screen is curved towards the edges and has a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. It also features an in-display fingerprint scanner and has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on the front.

Under the hood, the phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. It was launched in China with 12GB of RAM and 256GB/ 512GB of internal storage. The device is tipped to launch in Europe at a starting price of EUR 850 (roughly Rs 75,000). The India pricing should be lower.

On the back, the phone has a triple-camera setup. There will be a 50MP main camera with support for optical image stabilisation (OIS). There is also a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 12MP portrait lens with 2x optical zoom. For selfies, the Edge+ 2023 will have a 60MP front camera sensor.

The device is also likely to pack a 4600mAh battery with 125W fast charging and 15W wireless charging. There will be stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. The X40 weighs about 197 grams and measures 161.3 × 73.9 × 8.5mm. In China, the phone boots Android 13 out of the box and has a layer of MyUX on top. It is expected to launch globally with the same software.

The India launch date of the phone is unknown. However, we can expect the Edge 40 Pro to launch in India in March or April 2023.
