We had come across a Geekbench listing of an unannounced smartphone from Samsung bearing the model number SM-A013F a couple of weeks ago. Back then, the Samsung SM-A013F was speculated to be the Galaxy A01e. But there was no concrete info regarding the name of the smartphone.
Today, the same SM-A013F has been certified through Bluetooth SIG, which reveals the most important aspect of the phone, its name. According to the Bluetooth SIG listing of the SM-A013F, the retail name of the smartphone is Galaxy A01 Core.
Samsung Galaxy A01 Core (SM-A013F) Gets Bluetooth SIG certification
The Bluetooth SIG certification that we are talking about is for the SM-A013F_DS. This could be one of the variants of the SM-A013F (most probably for various regions of memory configurations).
As you can see in the image of the Bluetooth SIG certification of the SM-A013F, the product name is mentioned as Galaxy A01 Core, confirming the name of the device once and for all. Going by the name, it looks like the Galaxy A01 Core will be an entry-level smartphone. The ‘Core’ tag in the name further suggests that the Galaxy A01 Core will be placed below the Galaxy A01 in Samsung’s lineup of smartphones.
The certification reveals that the phone has Bluetooth v5.0 connectivity. The Bluetooth v5.0 feature is usually supported by modern chipsets, which means that the Galaxy A01 Core, even though it will be an entry-level phone, will come with a fairly new SoC.
That being said, the Geekbench listing of the Galaxy A01 Core had revealed that it has a 3-year old, MT6739 SoC. So, it is confusing at the moment which chipset will the phone feature. It is possible that the Geekbench might not have recognized the processor properly. Anyway, the Geekbench listing of the phone had also revealed that it will have 1GB of RAM and Android 10 OS. Other reports suggest that the phone will have a removable battery.
Considering that the Galaxy A01 Core has been certified through Bluetooth SIG and made it to Geekbench as well, its launch seems to be inching closer.
