Nokia 2.4 is seemingly set to launch in the coming days, at Nokia’s conference at the virtual IFA 2020 this year. Now, ahead of the purported launch, Nokia 2.4 press renders have been revealed online, showing one significant change on the outside. While the budget phone’s present edition, the Nokia 2.3, only had a basic face recognition feature in terms of biometric security, the upcoming Nokia 2.4 seems ready to come with a physical fingerprint sensor placed at the rear. Apart from this, the Nokia 2.4 will likely come with a larger battery pack and a general overhaul in terms of specifications to bring it up to date with market offerings in the budget smartphone segment. The overall design, however, is expected to remain the same.
Nokia 2.4 expected specifications
Nokia 2.4 is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 SoC, and have two RAM and storage options – an entry level variant with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, and a higher variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. According to reports based on leaked press renders by Evan Blass, the Nokia 2.4 may upgrade its display size from 6.2-inch to 6.5-inch. given that this is a budget smartphone, we still expect it to retain the HD+ screen resolution.
Other changes to the smartphone will apparently include an upgrade in battery size, with the device said to come with a 4,800mAh battery instead of the 4,000mAh battery in the Nokia 2.3. To the rear, alongside the new physical fingerprint sensor, it is most likely going to retain the same dual camera setup that we saw in the Nokia 2.3 – with a 13MP primary and 2MP depth assistance units. The notch on the display is expected to house a 5MP selfie camera as well.
The Nokia 2.4 is slated to be one of the brand’s full portfolio of new smartphones to be launched at IFA 2020, with other rumoured launches including Nokia 3.4, Nokia 6.3 and Nokia 7.3 smartphones. Nokia has also recently launched the Nokia 5.3, which is a mid-range smartphone from the iconic Finnish brand.
