Redmi 9A Launched in India with 5000mAh Battery, 6.53-inch IPS HD+ Display: Price, Full Specs, Sale Date

After launching Redmi 9 last week in India, Xiaomi’s Redmi finally launched the entry-level Redmi 9 series smartphone, Redmi 9A in the country today. To recall, Redmi 9A was introduced globally alongside Redmi 9C back in June. The entry-level Redmi 9A is the first smartphone to feature a MediaTek Helio G25. Xiaomi says that it has decided to not make any profit on the Redmi 9A.

Redmi 9A: Price in India

The Redmi 9A will be available in two variants and is priced at Rs. 6,799 for the 2GB RAM and 32GB storage and 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant costs Rs. 7,499 in India. The Redmi 9A comes in Nature Green, Sea Blue, and Midnight Black colors. Similar to every other Redmi 9 series smartphone, Redmi 9A is also an Amazon exclusive and will go on sale starting September 4.

Redmi 9A: Specifications and Features

Redmi 9A features a 6.53-inch HD+ IPS LCD panel with a 20:9 aspect ratio, 400nits brightness, and a waterdrop notch, Xiaomi says this is the biggest ever display that company has shipped on any Redmi A series smartphone. Redmi 9A is the world’s first phone to sport a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio G25 processor, coupled with 32GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. Similar to every other entry-level Redmi smartphone, Redmi 9A also has a dedicated Micro-SD card slot with support for up to 512GB external memory.

Coming to the camera department, the device features a 13MP primary rear camera accompanied by the LED flash. On the front, the device houses a 5MP selfie shooter. On the battery front, the device packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W charging and can be charged with a Micro-USB port. Xiaomi Redmi 9A also comes with ELB (Enhanced lifespan battery) technology which will improve battery lifespan and with the new technology, the battery of Redmi 9A will have a lifespan of up to 3 years as per company claims.

Redmi 9A lacks a fingerprint sensor so you need to rely on the AI face unlock. Similar to every other Xiaomi device, Redmi 9A comes with Dual SIM, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5, GPS, and GLONASS support. Redmi 9A runs Android 10 based MIUI 12 out of the box. The smartphone comes with P2i nano-coating, Xiaomi says all the ports have a rubberized seal and the device comes with reinforced corners for additional protection.
