Honor V40 With 120Hz Screen, 66W Fast Charging May Launch on January 12

Honor V40 series is expected to launch in January 2021. Details about the smartphone series have been available online for quite a while. A new report claims to have leaked the Honor V40 launch date and some of its specifications. A user on Weibo claims that the V40 series will launch on January 12. The company has not made any official confirmation at the time of writing this. The tipster further claims that the standard V40 will come with a 120Hz refresh rate display. Let’s take a look at the Honor V40 specifications, features, and other details leaked before the launch.

Honor tipped to launch V40 series on January 12; specifications tipped

Honor is yet to unveil the V40 series launch date. However, a Weibo user claims that the company will launch the V40 series on January 12. The user has also attached a screenshot of the beta test which reveals that the V40 will come with a 120Hz refresh rate display. A leaked render showed the smartphone sporting a dual hole-punch cutout display with curved edges.

The smartphone also sports a quad-camera setup inside a circular module. The LED flash is placed between the four sensors inside the module.

The device was recently spotted on the Chinese 3C certification website. As per the listing, the V40 will come with 66W fast charging support. Details about the standard V40 are very scarce at the moment. 

Specifications of the other two smartphones under the series, namely the V40 Pro, and V40 Pro+ were recently tipped. According to a report, the V40 series might come with similar features as seen in the Mate 40 series. Recently, tipster Rodent950 claimed that the V40 series will feature a 6.72-inch Full HD+ curved display. The screen will have a pill-shaped camera cutout for dual front cameras. 

The Honor V40 Pro might come with the latest Kirin 9000 chipset. The Honor V40 Pro+ could get powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ chipset. At the back, the V40 Pro might feature a triple-camera setup, while the V40 Pro+ could come with a quad-camera array. The V40 series is tipped to feature a 50MP primary camera sensor.
