At the Qualcomm Tech Summit 2020, the company revealed the most awaited flagship processor of the year called the Snapdragon 888. Just after the announcement of the flagship chipset, several smartphone makers have confirmed that they are working on their flagship phone based on the Snapdragon 888 SoC. Amid all the confirmations a smartphone from Vivo has now listed on Geekbench test with Snapdragon 888 chipset.
Vivo Smartphone with Snapdragon 888 Listed on Geekbench
The Vivo smartphone is listed on the Geekbench 5 test with a model number V2056A. The listing suggests that the smartphone is based on “Lahaina” motherboard, which is the code name of the Snapdragon 888. According to the report, Qualcomm uses the name of the location in Hawaii for the 800 series chipset. Besides, the listing also suggests that the smartphone will be backed by a 12GB RAM and runs Android 11.
According to the Geekbench listing, the Vivo V2056A managed to score 1,135 in the single-core benchmark test. In the Multi-core test, the smartphone scored 3,681 points. Considering earlier benchmark results, we can say that there is a 20 per cent increase in single-core performance over the previous Snapdragon 865 SoC. Do note that the phone is just a prototype and it’s an early look at the performance gain of the newly launched chipset.
The Geekbench listing didn’t reveal much about the specifications of the smartphone, rather than confirming that the Vivo is building a Snapdragon 888 processor. It seems Qualcomm has to reveal limited details about the chipset on the first day of Snapdragon Tech Summit.
The company is yet to reveal the CPU core configuration, we can expect the same to be unveiled today at the Tech Summit. Let’s see what else we are going to witness today on the second day of Qualcomm Tech Summit.
