Xiaomi’s Redmi launched its first smartphone with a 108MP camera sensor – Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, a couple of months back in China. The smartphone made its debut as Mi 10i in the Indian market. Now, Redmi GM Lu Weibing has said that we will see more products with 108MP cameras. Lu Weibing took it to Weibo to take a dig at the companies that used to include a ToF sensor on the smartphones, and have slowly moved away from it. Take a look at his post below (posted originally in Chinese),
More Xiaomi phones with 108MP primary camera to launch this year. pic.twitter.com/NoDCWiixdr
— Ankit (@TechnoAnkit1) February 1, 2021
Lu Weibing wrote that the brands that were promoting the presence of ToF sensors on their smartphones are no longer including it in their new products. Xiaomi was amongst the brands that didn’t jump on the ToF bandwagon. Lu Weibing’s comment might be indirectly targeted at the recently launched Moto Edge S as it packs a ToF camera. To those unaware, Moto Edge S packs quite impressive specs for its price and definitely poses a threat to other smartphones in the segment. In case you wish to learn more about the Moto Edge S, head over to this post.
Additionally, Redmi GM also said that the company will launch more 108MP camera smartphones this year. The company is gearing up to launch the Redmi K40 series this month in China. We can definitely hope to see some of the smartphones under the upcoming Redmi K40 lineup to sport a 108MP sensor. The company has already hinted that the Redmi K40 Pro will be powered by Snapdragon 888 SoC, and will cost under RMB 3,000 for the base variant.
Apart from the Redmi K40 series of devices, we can hope to see a 108MP camera setup again with a Note 10 series device later this year. What are your thoughts on ToF sensors? Have you ever considered it while purchasing a new smartphone? Also, do you wish to upgrade your smartphone to a 108MP camera smartphone? Do let us know in the comments below.

We are aware of the fact that Samsung is gearing up for the launch of two new A-series smartphones, the Galaxy A52 and the Galaxy A72. In the past few weeks, we have seen array of leaks regarding these devices, thanks to numerous certifications, and benchmark listings. Today, we have yet another leak coming out, where the battery capacity details of the Galaxy A72 have come out. The Galaxy A72 has explicitly cleared Anatel Certification in Brazil, which reveals that the A72 will pack in 5000mAh battery.
The Galaxy A72 which have cleared certification from Anatel seems to be a 4G model whose battery carries a model number EB-A426ABY. That apart, the charger’s model number is EP-TA800B one, meaning that the device will support 25W fast charging. If we go by the past rumours about the Galaxy A72, it is supposed to have a 5G variant as well. Leaked specifications suggest us that the smartphone will feature a 6.67-inch display, a Snapdragon 720G SoC along with 8GB of RAM. The handset even had made its appearance on Geekbench, where it managed to score 549 and 1637 points in single-core and multi-core test.

Both the 4G and 5G models of the A72 are considered to be similar in terms of design perspective, offering a quad rear camera setup. In addition to the certification and benchmark leaks, the Galaxy A72 also appeared in official looking renders few days ago. Apart from these renders, the support page of the Galaxy A72 also went live on Samsung’s Carribbean and Latin America website. In the last week, the smartphone even had received FCC certification, where the documents disclosed that it will offer 25W fast charging support.

No pricing details regarding the 5G variant of the Galaxy A72 is available as of now. Samsung is yet to officially reveal the launch date of the Galaxy A52, and the Galaxy A72. Week four saw the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra at the top of our trending chart once more, but we've got a somewhat surprising silver medalist. The Sony Xperia Pro is more of a professional tool than a phone, but its market launch still got people talking about it. The Xiaomi Mi 11 retains its third spot, while the Poco M3 actually went up a position and captured fourth.. This leaves the Galaxy S21 as the big loser from this week's shuffle dropping three spots and sitting all the way down in fifth. Behind it is its humble stablemate, the Galaxy A12, while the iPhone 12 Pro broke its string of...

Xiaomi closed off the week with something truly unbelievable. Mi Air Charge technology promises to be able to wirelessly charge a phone from a distance of "several meters". Providing up to 5W to multiple devices while you're using them, walking around or even when there are objects in the way. The...

MSI has been making some great PC components and laptops over the last few years. MSI Bravo 15 is the new kid on the block, powered by Ryzen 4000 series of CPUs. I had the opportunity to check it out for a good month recently, and as someone who daily drives another Ryzen 4000 gaming notebook, I wasn’t as impressed.
Don’t get me wrong, the MSI Bravo 15 is sufficient to be your gaming buddy. It has enough horsepower, and the form factor is the highlight for me. However, there are a few compromises that make it hard to recommend in a market and category that is jam-packed with competition. Let’s dive into it.
The MSI Bravo 15 (2020) SKU we reviewed was Bravo 15 A4DDR-014IN-BBAR748H16GXXDX10EMH. Our unit had the top-of-the-line AMD Ryzen 7 4800H, paired with an AMD Radeon RX5500M with 4GB GDDR6 VRAM.
The laptop had 8GB DDR4-3200. On the storage side was a 512 GB M.2 NVMe SSD. The display was a 15.6″ screen running at full HD, 1920 x 1080, running at 120 Hz. The panel is described as IPS-Level. The unit was running on Windows 10 Home.
To start off, the MSI Bravo 15 has a great build quality and form factor. Coming from the ASUS TUF A17, which is built like a tank, I didn’t feel like I was going too far. The metal feel and finish on the Bravo 15 is great, even though prone to just a ton of smudges.
I personally enjoyed the thin and light design. My TUF A17 is a big boy, so I felt a noticeable difference using and carrying around the Bravo 15. It’s just a very handy laptop for the amount of power it carries.
My only issue was the massive, massive power brick. The 180W power brick is absolutely ginormous, but I guess it is a necessary evil. Since the laptop itself is light enough, I didn’t quite feel inconvenienced by the heft of the power brick.
For this review, I actually didn’t put the MSI Bravo 15 through the paces of the daily workload. The reason? Modern-day laptops, especially the Ryzen 4000 machines, are more than capable of carrying the average workload. In my case, this was a ton of writing and web surfing, and I didn’t think it was necessary to confirm the obvious.
However, being a gaming machine, I used the Bravo 15 as my primary gaming device. The AMD Radeon RX5500M performs better than a 1650 Ti but doesn’t quite hit 1660 Ti levels of performance. I’m not sure why MSI decided to go with an all-AMD spec here, especially since 1660 Ti would have been a great offering here.
I also ran a couple of benchmarks, however, to get a feel of the raw performance. The Bravo 15 didn’t show much deviation from other similarly priced laptops.
The performance was acceptable and didn’t really leave me wanting more. The GPU choice could have been better, but the RX5500M isn’t the worst choice you could go for in this segment.
While the performance was up to the mark, I had a few issues with the laptop. First of all, is the keyboard. The MSI Bravo 15 (2020) has a single-color LED-lit keyboard, which means you’re stuck with the red lighting. This really isn’t acceptable given that nearly all the good laptops in this segment come with RGB lighting.
That wasn’t my only issue with the keyboard, either. The key travel on the MSI Bravo 15 is very low. It goes with the thin and light factor, but there is really no need for it on a gaming laptop. The low travel makes for a terrible gaming experience since you have very little tactility to your advantage. It feels like…, a touchpad.
Unfortunately, my gaming complaints didn’t end there. The temperature levels on this laptop were acceptable on paper. Take a look:
However, there was one issue. The laptop gets uncomfortably hot in the WASD key region and coupled with a low key travel, means a very unpleasant experience for your hands.
All these issues seem like such obvious oversights for a gaming machine. MSI made a machine that was powerful enough for a decent mid-range gaming experience, but the lack of the obvious comfort really takes away from that, leaving you with a bittersweet taste.
While the Bravo 15 is a decent offering overall, I would recommend you to skip this one. The SKU we reviewed isn’t available in retail as of now, but a slightly different SKU with 16 GB RAM and a 144 Hz screen sells for Rs. 89,990. In the 80-90K price bracket, there are tons of other offerings that will give you a similar performance, while keeping the comfort (and the RGB).
If you want a thin and light laptop that you can game on, and have no issues with the potential problems I mentioned, then you can consider going for this one.
MSI Bravo 15 (2020) Rating: 7/10

Cyberpunk 2077 has had a rough launch. While the game was announced to have gone gold a while before the launch, meaning that the bugs were ironed out, Cyberpunk 2077 still saw another delay. Now, we all expected the game to arrive in an acceptable condition, but unfortunately, the game landed riddled with bugs, glitches, and performance issues.
CD Projekt Red has to own up to their massive screwup, and that they did. The game now has an update schedule to fix all the issues, and CDPR is actually delivering on it quite well. We have seen multiple fixes in the past few weeks. The last one was Patch 1.1, which was released about a week ago. Now we have Hotfix 1.11, which fixes the game-breaking Takemura Glitch.
Hotfix 1.11 is available on PC, consoles and Stadia!
This update restores item randomization and fixes a bug which affected some users’ holocall with Takemura in Down on the Street quest.
Details: https://t.co/SsVYRGfdha pic.twitter.com/TAQmRilNxq
— Cyberpunk 2077 (@CyberpunkGame) January 28, 2021
CDPR has published the patch notes for Hotfix 1.11, which is available across platforms, on PC, consoles, and Stadia. Here are the patch notes:
This update addresses two issues that appeared after Patch 1.1:
The save/load loot exploit will be investigated further.
It occurred for some players during a holocall with Takemura, when using a save made on version 1.06 with Down on the Street quest in progress at “Wait For Takemura’s call” objective. After loading such a save on version 1.1, the holocall would lack dialogue options and block interactions with other NPCs.
The hotfix mostly focuses on the issues that cropped up with Patch 1.1. The Takemura glitch would break the game for players, and CDPR has now fixed it, along with another bug. CDPR had released an acknowledgment note for the Takemura glitch, with a promise to fix it soon.
If CDPR can keep this up and fix all issues with the game as intended, there are still chances of the game surviving to become as big as we were expecting it to be. Player counts are dropping already, and DLCs are obviously delayed thanks to the bug fixing that CDPR has had to prioritize. Regardless, the efforts of the developers deserve attention, since the game’s failed launch was more of a corporate failure anyway.
Stay tuned to us for more on Cyberpunk 2077 and its patches as they arrive.

While gaming is now a household hobby in India thanks to PUBG Mobile, competitive e-sports is something that’s still a niche. Yes, there are pro players in the country who take part in international tournaments for CS:GO, Dota and the likes, but can gaming really be a career option in India? This is a question that has been raised a lot, but never could be answered because while engineering and economics courses have a vast array of tutorials and courses to choose from, there really isn’t anything available for professional gaming. Well, until now.
ASUS is starting a first of its kind initiative in India called the ROG Academy which in partnership with SoStronk aims to find six highly skilled and professional CS:GO players. The objective is to build a team that can rank at least in the top10 in Asia. And that’s no easy task.
ROG Academy is a three month intensive incubation program for eSports. The program aims to build professional teams for each of the eSports games, starting with Counter Strike: Global Offensive. ASUS has delegated the coaching duties to SoStronk, a Bengaluru-based startup that hosts servers for tournaments. The curriculum has been designed by the SoStronk team along with members of AFK Gaming.

Nothing out of the ordinary, really, given Apple's track record of extreme secrecy on projects and products. One thing became clear from those events, however - that Hyundai Motor Co Group has at least some insight into the matter. We can only assume that prompted...
The ongoing Xiaomi/US saga is quickly escalating. If you haven't been following it closely, basically one of the swan songs of Trump's government was to designate Xiaomi as a “Communist Chinese military company”. A title that would qualify it to fall under the administration's Executive Order from November that bars American securities and investment companies from putting capital in said companies. What being on the list currently entails in more practical terms is that if the decision stands all American institutional investors in Xiaomi would be forced to withdraw holdings in...

Apple introduced a host of new features in iOS 14 for iPhones. Some of the features introduced aimed at improving the iMessage experience. The list of new features included group conversations, inline replies, etc. While Apple did announce these features at the WWDC 2020 event, it kept one key detail under the wraps. A new report suggests that Apple has adopted a new security system called “BlastDoor” for iMessage. BlastDoor is a “basic sandbox, a type of security service that executes code separately from the rest of the operating system,” according to a security researcher. Let’s take a look at what BlastDoor is and how the new iMessage security feature works.
According to ZDNet, citing security researcher Samuel Groß, Apple added the new security system called BlastDoor in iOS 14. It is a basic sandbox that executes code separately from the rest of the operating system. BlastDoor is aimed at protecting users against attacks carried out via the iMessage instant messaging client.
Apple already ships iOS with multiple such sandbox mechanism. BlastDoor is the latest addition that operates at the level of the iMessage app.
“Its role is to take incoming messages and unpack and process their content inside a secure and isolated environment, where any malicious code hidden inside a message can’t interact or harm the underlying operating system or retrieve with user data,” the report added.
The researcher further said that iMessage has been a target of multiple attacks in the past. There had been multiple instances where security researchers or real-world attackers found iMessage bugs. They abused these issues to develop exploits that allowed them to take control over an iPhone by sending a simple text to someone’s device.
Groß probed around in iOS 14 for a week and believes Apple has taken the feedback from researchers seriously to improve the handling of incoming messages in iMessage.
“Overall, these changes are probably very close to the best that could’ve been done given the need for backwards compatibility, and they should have a significant impact on the security of iMessage and the platform as a whole,” Groß said in his blog post.
