Bharti Airtel becomes the first telecom operator that demonstrated a live 5G service in the city of Hyderabad. The telecom operator orchestrated a live 5G demo over a commercial network. Airtel Says its network is now 5G Ready

Airtel becomes the country’s first telecom to successfully demonstrate and orchestrate live 5G service over a commercial network. The company demoed the 5G service in the Hyderabad city. The operator was able to commercially test the 5G networks by using its existing liberalised spectrum in the 1800 MHz band through NSA (Non-Stand Alone) network technology. The company claims that it has used dynamic spectrum sharing to seamlessly operate 5G and 4G concurrently within the same spectrum block. The brand says that it is now 5G ready.

The new Airtel 5G can deliver up to 10x speeds, 10x latency, and 100x concurrency when compared to existing technologies. The brand says with the new 5G network, users in Hyderabad can download a full-length movie in a matter of seconds on a 5G smartphone. The company says that it has partnered with Ericsson to complete the commercial trial in Hyderabad. However, the company reveals that the full impact of the 5G experience will be available to the customers when there is an adequate spectrum is available and the brand has all the government approvals.
