Motorola has today demonstrated a new air-to-air charging technology. The brand has posted a video on its official Weibo handle showcasing the new charging technology. Motorola claims that air charging can be done with up to 100 cm and one can charge up to two devices at the same time. Interestingly, Xiaomi has also confirmed a similar technology that uses an almost similar mechanism. Let’s take a closer look at the Motorola’s upcoming Air Charging technology.
Motorola introduces the world’s First Air Charging Solution
The brand has posted a video on its official Weibo handle showing the new air-to-air charging solution. The 48-second video shows that one can charge up to two Motorola smartphones using the air charging technology. As per the video, the upcoming charging technology might be named as Motorola One Hyper. The video shows a black device that is used to send an electric current through the air from one location to another.
The company says that the current technology is based on the Qi wireless charging, though the full details are not known at the moment. Moving on, the video shows a person placing the charger at a distance and then he shows two Motorola smartphones. There are two stands that kept at 80 cm and 100 cm distance from the device. The person then keeps the first phone at 100cm distance and it automatically starts charging. Then the second handset is placed and it also starts charging. However, when the person keeps his hand on the black device the charging on the two phones stops.
This new technology looks quite promising. Motorola has also confirmed that the upcoming technology will be available with future Motorola Edge series smartphones.
