Google Pixel 6 Pro Prototype Leaks in Hands-on Video, Reveals Glossy Back, Punch-Hole Display, and More

Google tried to beat the leaks with the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro this year, but there’s no stopping leaksters. A video posted on Twitter by @thistechtoday claims to be the first hands on for the Google Pixel 6 Pro smartphone. “I think this may be the first hands on video leak of a Google Pixel 6 Pro. FYI: The logo would indicate that this is likely an early production test unit, so that means there may be some differences between what you see here and the actual production device,” the tweet said. The byte sized video gives us a brief glimpse of a Pixel 6 Pro, or possibly a demo unit, in a person’s hand.

The video doesn’t really show the phone being turned on, it’s pretty much a brief look at the design. While the screen is turned on, it’s only in the initial setup stages for Android 12. What it does tell us though is that the angular and sharp design we saw in Google’s marketing images aren’t what we should be expecting. Instead, the Pixel 6 Pro looks somewhat curved near the edges, and you can see a glossy sheen on the device, where it reflects the light. The black strip for the camera module remains on the back though, it just doesn’t look like the sharp metal and glass slab like it did in the video.

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro specs and features

To be fair, Google has already told us quite a few things about the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. The biggest of those being the fact that these two phones will run on the company’s new Tensor chips for smartphones, which have been designed specifically using Google’s in-house technology.

The Pixel 6 Pro will have a 6.7-inch QHD+ display, while the Pixel 6 will have a 6.4-inch FHD+ display. The two phones will also have 120Hz and 90Hz refresh rates, respectively. They will use under-display fingerprint sensors and will have dual cameras, with up to 4x zoom, on the back. These cameras have 50MP and 12MP sensors on the standard and ultrawide lenses, respectively.
