OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 8, and OnePlus 8 Pro Now Receiving OxygenOS 13 Open Beta: Enables 5G Support, Here’s Full Changelog

OnePlus recently completed OxygenOS 13 Open Beta rollout for the OnePlus 9 series devices. Now, in a new development, the brand has announced the OxygenOS 13 Open Beta program for the OnePlus 8 series devices including the OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 8, and OnePlus 8 Pro. OnePlus took it to the OnePlus Community forum to make an announcement about the OxygenOS 13 Open Beta build availability for these devices.

The OxygenOS 13 for the OnePlus 8 series devices is based on Android 13. The OxygenOS 13 Open Beta update brings the regular Android 13 features with it. The company is also introducing a brand-new aquamorphic design that enhances visual comfort as per the company. OnePlus has also enabled support for Airtel 5G Plus with the OxygenOS 13 Open Beta update.

OnePlus 8 Series OxygenOS 13 Open Beta: Changelogs and Features

Following the 5G announcement in the Indian market, OnePlus has enabled the support for Airtel 5G Plus with the OxygenOS 13 Open Beta update. The brand is yet to roll out support for Jio True 5G for the OnePlus 8 series devices. To those unaware, Airtel has been testing Airtel 5G Plus services in a total of 8 cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Gurugram, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Varanasi. The country’s biggest telecom operator Jio has also started rolling out Jio True 5G in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Varanasi.

Aquamorphic Design
• Adds Aquamorphic Design theme colors for enhanced visual comfort.
• Applies the Aquamorphic Design philosophy to animations to make them natural and vivid.
• Adds Shadow-Reflective Clock, with shadow simulating the orientation of the sun and moon.

OnePlus 8 Series: Installation Procedure and Download Links

OnePlus 8 series users running firmware version C.35 are eligible to install the OxygenOS 13 Open Beta on their devices. However, before starting with the installation process, users need to ensure at least 5.5GBs of free storage and at least 30% battery on their devices.

Readers must note that the OxygenOS 13 Open Beta firmware installation requires manual flashing so users need to enable developer options on their devices which can be under by heading over to Settings -> About device -> Version -> Click Build number 7 times. Also, users need to download the Open Beta firmware and copy it to their phone’s internal storage.

After downloading the firmware and enabling developer options, users can head over to Settings -> About device -> Up to date -> Click the top right button -> Local install -> Click on the corresponding installation package -> Extract -> Upgrade to upgrade to OxygenOS 13 Open Beta.

The Android 13 might be the last Android version upgrade for the OnePlus 8 series devices. To those unaware, these devices made their debut in 2020 and have already received Android 11 and Android 12 version upgrades.
