Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 smartphones later this year. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4 debuted last year in August. A few days back, a report revealed that Samsung might launch the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5 earlier i.e. in July. Both these devices were spotted on Geekbench a couple of weeks back. The Geekbench listing confirmed that these phones will be equipped with 3.36GHz Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Now, in a recent development, both these upcoming smartphones have gained the 3C certification in China.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5 Receives 3C Certification
According to the 3C listing, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 (SM-F9460) and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 (SM-F7310) will offer 25W fast charging support. Apart from the model number and fast charging support details, no other specifications of these devices have been revealed by the recent certification. If the past leaks are to be believed, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will feature a 7.6-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2K resolution. The outer display on the device is expected to measure about 6.2-inches and it also could have 120Hz refresh rate.
As for the imaging purpose, the phone is expected to feature a triple-camera setup. The back of the handset might include a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10MP telephoto lens. On the front side, the handset might come equipped with a 10MP camera. As far as the specifications of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 go, it is rumoured to boast a 6.7-inch 120Hz foldable AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. The cover display on the device is expected to measure about 3.4-inches. The device might feature a dual-camera setup consisting of 12MP sensors. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to be available in Beige, Black, and Light Blue options, while the Flip 5 might debut in Beige, Grey, Light Green, and Light Pink colour options.
As for the software, both phones are expected to boot Android 13 OS out of the box with One UI skin on top. As mentioned above, both phones are supposed to ship with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to pack up to 12GB of RAM. The device might debut in 256GB and 512GB storage options. On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 might come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB storage.
