Amazon Great Summer Sale 2023 is set to begin soon in India. The new Amazon sale will be live on May 4 where customers can get attractive deals, offers and discounts on various smartphones and electronic items. Amazon has already revealed some of the best smartphone deals during the Great Summer Sale 2023. While many smartphones will be available for a discounted price, two premium devices from the stable of OnePlus and iQOO have received some solid offers. The OnePlus 11R 5G will be available for Rs 38,999, whereas the iQOO 11 5G can be effectively bought for under Rs 50,000.

Performance is the most significant feature of both smartphones. The question then is whether you should buy the OnePlus 11R or the iQOO 11 5G during the Amazon Great Summer Sale.

Amazon Great Summer Sale: OnePlus 11R vs iQOO 11 5G Offers

During the Amazon Great Summer Sale, the iQOO 11 will be available for Rs 49,999, whereas the OnePlus 11R can be bought for Rs 38,999. The effective price is inclusive of various offers and discounts on the Amazon website and app. While the OnePlus 11R is obviously more affordable, the iQOO 11 packs flagship hardware for the extra cost. However, what is important to analyse is which phone offers better value for the price.

Design and Display

When it comes to design, the iQOO 11 is the more generous of the two. The phone comes in two finishes and colour options. The Legend variant has a white faux leather back with BMW-inspired racing stripes, whereas the Alpha black colour option has a glass back. It also comes with an aluminium frame. The phone also sports a 144Hz refresh rate AMOLED display. The 6.78-inch LTPO display has a 2K resolution and is also quite bright at 1800 nits.

The OnePlus 11R has a glass back with a plastic frame. The design language is, more or less, similar to the flagship OnePlus 11. It has a 6.74-inch AMOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution. Unlike the iQOO 11 5G, the OnePlus 11R comes with a curved display. The display also supports a 120Hz adaptive screen refresh rate and 1450 nits peak brightness.

The OnePlus 11R gets an alert slider and an IR blaster, which is missing in the iQOO 11.

Performance and Battery

The iQOO 11 features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, whereas the OnePlus 11R 5G gets a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. While the iQOO 11 is obviously more powerful, the OnePlus 11R 5G is no slouch. Both phones will get the job done when it comes to routine tasks or gaming. However, the iQOO 11 will obviously have the lead here when it comes to a longer, sustained use case, not just in terms of daily minutes but over the years too.

The iQOO 11 gets a dedicated V2 chip, which is claimed to offer an enhanced gaming and photography experience. OnePlus does not have any such chip packed in the 11R 5G.

In terms of RAM and storage, the iQOO 11 and OnePlus 11R come with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM. However, the OnePlus 11R’s 8GB base model offers 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, whereas the iQOO 11’s 8GB RAM variant offers 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage in the base model.

The phones feature a 5000mAh battery. The iQOO 11 supports 120W fast charging, whereas the 11R is marginally slow at 100W. Both phones do not support wireless charging.

Camera

The iQOO 11 and OnePlus 11R 5G feature a triple-camera setup. The iQOO 11 has a 50MP Samsung GN5 1/1.57-inch camera main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 13-megapixel portrait camera with 2X optical zoom. For selfies, there is a 16MP front camera. The camera can shoot up to 4K 60fps video, and thanks to the V2 chip, there is support for 4K night mode video recording as well. The front camera, however, supports only 1080p 30fps videos.

The OnePlus 11R 5G, in comparison, has a 50MP Sony IMX890 1/1.56-inch main camera sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies, there is a 16MP front camera. The camera supports 4K video recording but does not have a night mode option for the same.

Between the two, the iQOO 11 has a slight edge, courtesy of the dedicated portrait-telephoto camera, support for up to 4K 60fps night mode video recording.

Software

The OnePlus 11R 5G boots Android 13-based Oxygen OS 13 out of the box. It is promised to get three major Android updates and four years of security support. The iQOO 11 also gets the promise of three major Android updates and security support for four years. The phone boots Android 13-based Funtouch OS 13 out of the box.

Software preferences are subjective so we leave this one for you to rate as per your choice.

Verdict

Between the two phones, the iQOO 11 has a lead when it comes to the specs on offer. However, when you factor in the price, the iQOO flagship is clearly more expensive than the OnePlus 11R 5G.

If you are someone who wants a performance-focused smartphone with better longevity, a slightly more versatile camera setup and a smoother display, we would suggest getting the iQOO 11 5G. However, if you cannot stretch your budget and want to buy a phone under Rs 40,000, the OnePlus 11R 5G is certainly one of the best deals during the Amazon sale.
