Airtel Rs.75 Prepaid Recharge Plan Launched: Offers 300 Mins Calling, 1GB Data, 100 SMS for 28 Days

Bharti Airtel has done it again. It has managed to shake up the telecom sector with its entry-level prepaid plan of Rs. 75, which is aimed at the very basic level users. In the recent past as well, Airtel has managed to roll out numerous basic plans, which are aimed at the entry-level users who that the company is able to retain these customers.

Airtel’s Rs. 75 Plan: Benefits

This plan has a validity of 28 days and the users get 300 minutes of free voice calls. These calls cover the local, STD and the outgoing roaming voice calls as well. Apart from this, the telecom giant is also offering 100 free SMSes to the users over a period of 28 days. Regarding the data, users get 1GB of data – 2G/3G/4G.

Airtel’s Telecom Circles:

Bharti Airtel is an India-owned global mobile network provider. The headquarters of the telecom network is situated in New Delhi, India. The company was founded by Sunil Mittal on 7 July 1995. Sunil Mittal is also the Chairman of this network, and Gopal Vittal is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of this network operator.

Currently, Airtel is the largest network operator in terms of subscriber base. The network operator tops the list occupying around 450 million subscribers totally. The network is available in 20 countries, as it is a global network. The network offers 3G, 4G LTE, VoLTE, and GSM services according to the country’s specification. Airtel has recently launched its VoLTE service in India. However, the service is provided only in 8 telecom circles of the country, which includes Chennai, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Maharashtra and Goa, Mumbai, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujrat, Karnataka, Kerala, and Kolkata. Airtel was given the pride of the second most valuable brand in the first ranking given by Brandz. The network is also the third largest network in the world.

Airtel vs Other Telecoms:

In the past, Airtel launched its Rs. 47 plan as well in the entry-level domain. This plan seems to in direct competition to Vodafone’s Rs. 47 plan. Both the plans have very similar benefits –  7500 seconds of voice calling benefits, 500MB of 2G / 3G / 4G mobile data,  and 50 free SMSes. Both the plans also have a validity period of 28 days.

Airtel seems to target competition from Vodafone, rather than Reliance Jio in this segment. Although Reliance Jio has a low-cost Rs. 49 plan, it is available only for JioPhone users, which is a relatively small market. On the other hand Airtel’s Rs. 47 plan is an open market plan that is aimed at every subscriber of Airtel.

Moreover, Airtel is extremely cautious with its plans to combat Vodafone in India, as the UK based company has been extremely aggressive in its operations in India. Vodafone India has rebranded and renovated several of its RED plans. Airtel was forced to counter by reducing the prices of their premium plans and also bundling in a year’s worth of Amazon Prime membership apart from access to its Airtel Live TV media streaming app.
