Xiaomi POCO F1 Officially Listed Under Devices That Support Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4.0

Xiaomi’s Snapdragon 845-powered affordable flagship, the POCO F1 has got another feature to boast. The phone has now been listed under the Quick Charge 4.0 compatible devices. Qualcomm has now added the POCO F1 smartphone to its official list of devices that offer Quick Charge 4.0 support. WIth Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0, the phone could charge up to 50% from scratch in just 15 minutes.

Xiaomi Poco F1 Gains Quick Charge 4.0 Support

The POCO F1 gaining Quick Charge 4.0 support comes as a pleasant addition for the users. There are not many Android phones on the market that have Quick Charge 4.0 Support. Xiaomi has marketed the POCO F1 as a powerful flagship with Snapdragon 845 chipset under the hood and various other top-end specifications, but at an affordable price. The POCO F1 has tasted success in the Indian smartphone market, and now with Quick Charge 4.0 support that brings unparalleled charging speed, the phone may score more sales.

During the official launch of POCO F1 smartphone in India, Xiaomi stated that the phone supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 even the official product page of the device showed the same information. Now that Qualcomm has made the Quick Charge 4.0 support official for the POCO F1, the company should soon be changing the product description on its website.

Before you get all excited about this new feature on the POCO F1, there is something you must know that may act as a buzzkill.

But There is A Catch!

While it is a great new addition to the list of powerful specs that the POCO F1 packs, there is a catch. Although Quick Charge 4.0 technology is compatible with the phone, Xiaomi does not bundle a compatible charger with it. Yes, the POCO F1 comes bundled with a charger that can only support up to Quick Charge 3.0 standard. So, if you have a POCO F1 and are looking forward to utilizing the newly added feature, you will have to buy a compatible third-party charger.

Attaining Quick Charge 4.0 support means that the device contains the required hardware to achieve the compatibility. It also depends on the OEM to fully enable this feature. A Quick Charge 4/4+ certified power adapter remains a pre-requisite for the user to use the technology.

Xiaomi is not the only OEM to have released a Quick Charge 4.0/4+ compatible without bundling a compatible power adapter; there are several manufacturers doing the same. Except for the Razer Phone, which includes a Quick Charge 4.0 compatible power adapter in the package.

Talking about Quick Charge 4.0 support on Xiaomi phones, other Mi phones compatible with the technology are Mi A2, Mi 8, Mi 8 Explorer Edition, and the Mi 8 Pro.

An Aggressive Offering From Xiaomi

The POCO F1 comes in three variants – 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. The POCO F1 rivals the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T in India as they also come with the same SoC but with a higher price tag. The 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant of the Poco F1 costs INR 20,999, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage version is priced at INR 23,999, and the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model costs INR 28,999. There is also an Armoured Edition of the phone, which costs INR 29,999. As you can see, all the variants cost lesser than the OnePlus 6/OnePlus 6T. Well, Xiaomi has been pretty aggressive too while marketing the POCO F1. The company had recently trolled OnePlus at the OnePlus 6T launch event in India.
