Xiaomi’s latest budget offering in the Indian market, the Redmi Note 7 Pro went on sale in the country for the third time earlier this week. Just like the two previous flash sales, the smartphone was sold out within a matter of seconds. While the immense success of the flash sales is great news for Xiaomi, the limited availability of the phone makes it nearly impossible for many users to be able to purchase it. Since the supply situation is not likely to improve very soon, does it make more sense to wait for the Realme 3 Pro instead? That is exactly what we will be discussing in this article.
Redmi Note 7 Pro Was Sold Out in Seconds Yet Again
The third Redmi Note 7 Pro flash sale was held on March 27 at 12 PM. Since the smartphone went out of stock mere seconds after the sale began, Xiaomi held two more flash sales on the same day at 4 PM and 8 PM. Thanks to the overwhelming demand and limited supply, a large number of consumers who were hoping to purchase the Redmi Note 7 Pro ended up being disappointed. Thanks to its aggressive pricing and class-leading hardware, the Redmi Note 7 Pro is likely to continue selling like hot cakes in the weeks to come. This means until Xiaomi announces an open sale, it will remain extremely difficult for consumers to purchase the Redmi Note 7 Pro online from Flipkart or the Mi Store.
Will Realme 3 Pro be Worth the Wait?
Currently, there is no other budget Android smartphone on sale in India that can match the Redmi Note 7 Pro in terms of the hardware on offer. However, things are expected to change soon. Realme teased the launch of the Realme 3 Pro at the Realme 3 launch event held earlier this month. The much-awaited successor to the Realme 2 Pro will be arriving in India in April. Since the company plans to pit the Realme 3 directly against the Redmi Note 7 Pro, it is expected to boast a highly impressive spec sheet. According to Realme CEO Madhav Sheth, the three main highlights of the upcoming budget Android smartphone will be speed, performance, and optimization.
The Realme 3 Pro is expected to be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 octa-core processor as the Redmi Note 7 Pro, which would make it the second budget Android smartphone powered by the 11nm chipset to launch in India. Compared to the Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset powering the Realme 2 Pro, the Snapdragon 675 is an impressive upgrade both in terms of CPU and graphics performance. Apart from offering faster performance, the Realme 3 Pro may also be Realme’s first smartphone to come equipped with VOOC Flash Charge technology. However, there is a possibility of Realme using a different branding for the technology.
When it comes to imaging, Realme has hinted that the Realme 3 Pro may not feature a 48MP main camera. But that does not mean that the smartphone will not be anywhere near as good as the Redmi Note 7 Pro in the camera department. As many of you might be aware, a higher megapixel count does not always mean better quality. Even if the Realme 3 Pro doesn’t turn out to be a Redmi Note 7 Pro killer, it is certainly shaping up to be a worthy rival to the Xiaomi smartphone and will most definitely be priced very aggressively. So if you haven’t been able to get your hands on the Redmi Note 7 Pro yet, I think you should wait for the Realme 3 Pro to be launched and then make a decision.
