Transsion Holdings-owned Infinix Mobiles reportedly plans to launch a new handset called the Infinix Hot 9 in the Indonesian market. This new phone is a successor to the Infinix Hot 8 which, as you might be aware, is already on sale in India. While we do not know most of the specifications of this phone, we can garner some information around it thanks to some of the photos that have appeared on the Infinix Indonesia Twitter page as well as their website.
Infinix’s Hot series has always been known to feature multiple cameras at the rear, and the Hot 9 appears to possess the same attributes. From the photos of the rear panel, it is evident that the handset gets a quad-camera setup at the rear. This is a definite upgrade over the Infinix Hot 8’s triple rear camera setup. Also clear from the photos is that the phone gets a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. And yes, the handset also gets a single LED flash for low light scenarios.
While we still do not know a lot of things about this phone, we can deduce a few things by looking at its predecessor – the Hot 8 – which featured a 6.5-inch HD+ 20:9 Drop Notch Display. That phone also used an IPS LCD panel.
From an online listing on the Indonesian e-commerce portal Lazada where the phone will be exclusively sold, it also looks like the Infinix Hot 9 will feature a massive 5,000 mAh battery. The listing also confirms that the Hot 9 will come with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It remains to be seen if the device gets an upgraded processor over its predecessor, which came powered by the MediaTek Helio A22 chipset.
There is also a good chance that Infinix — which has a sizable presence in the offline market in India, will launch the Hot 9 in India very soon.
