Realme 6 Netflix HD Support Now Rolling Out Alongside March Security Patch with Latest Realme UI Build

Realme has lately been pretty active when it comes to pushing updates to its devices. Earlier today, we informed you about the latest Android 10-based Realme UI stable update being rolled out to the Realme X2 and Realme X2 Pro devices. Now, we have been able to find out that the brand’s recently launched Realme 6 devices have also started receiving a new software update. This, so far, is the second update the device has received ever since its launch. The latest update brings with it the HD support for Netflix streaming. Take a look at the latest update for the Realme 6 devices and find out what it has in store for us.

Realme 6 Latest Update: Features and Changelog

The latest Realme 6 update has the firmware build number RMX2001_11_B.17. It weighs in at around 320MB and is being rolled out over the air to the devices. It should ideally reach all Realme 6 devices in a week or two. As far as the changelog is concerned, the latest update for Realme 6 brings the following updates:

  • Android security patch: March 2020

System

  • Fixed the flash screen issue after using partial applications to play HD videos

Though the official changelog does not explicitly mention a major update, Madhav Sheth, Realme CEO, tweeted about it a little while ago. As per Madhav, the latest build enables HD video streaming on Netflix on Realme 6 device.

Furthermore, both Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro will soon receive HD support for Amazon Prime Video as well.

Realme 6: Specifications and Features

As far as the specifications of the Realme 6 are concerned, the device boasts a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels and a tall 20:9 aspect ratio. There is a single punch-hole cutout for the front camera, which is located in the top left corner of the device’s display. The punch-hole makes room for a 16MP selfie snapper. The Realme 6 measures 162.1 x 74.8 x 8.9 mm and weighs in at 191 grams. At the back, the Realme 6 sports a quad rear camera setup, including a 64MP Samsung GW1 wide-angle camera (f/1.8) + an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens (f/2.3) + a 2MP B&W portrait lens (f/2.4) + a 2MP macro camera (f/2.4). The rear camera can shoot 4K videos at 30 frames per second.

Powering the Realme 6 is a 2.05GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio G90T processor, which is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The device has scope for further storage expansion with the help of an external SD card. Coming to the battery of the device, the Realme 6 is fueled by a 4,300mAh battery, which comes with support for 30W fast charging. In the software department, the Realme 6 ships the latest Android 10 OS out of the box with the company’s Realme UI skin baked on top of it.
