The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, a smartphone that has been leaked a number of times in the past few days, is now official. The device has made its debut in Malaysia today. As earlier leaks and rumors suggested, the Redmi Note 9S is a rebranded Redmi Note 9 Pro for the Malaysian market. While the Indian market got the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max as well, the Malaysian market is yet to get the device. Looks like the brand is saving it for a later date. Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 9S in Malaysia in two configurations. The base configuration has 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and it costs MYR 799. The second variant has 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and this one is priced at MYR 899.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro features a 6.67-inch IPS LCD with Full HD+ resolution, 450 nits brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The smartphone features a quad-camera setup at the rear that has a 48MP primary camera, 8MP ultrawide camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. The main camera sensor at the rear is capable of recording 4K videos at 30 frames per second. The selfie camera of the smartphone is a 16MP unit with Full HD video recording capability.
