Lenovo K12 Note Renders Leaked, Said to be the Rebranded Version of Moto G9 Play with 15W Charging

It was a little less than a month ago that we first talked about an upcoming K series smartphone from Lenovo called the Lenovo K12 Note after it appeared on a Google Play Console listing. From the accompanying image, it was evident that this new device was a rebranded version of the Motorola G9 Play, which Motorola sells as the Moto G9 in India. The Google Play Console listing also revealed key specifications of the phone. Last evening, leakster Sudhanshu Ambhore confirmed our doubts when he posted images of the Lenovo K12 Note. In the new set of images, the visual similarity between the two phones is unmissable.

Take a look.

As seen in the images above, the Lenovo K12 Note appears to come in at least two colour options. The phone has the same rear camera array like the one you saw on the Moto G9 Play. The minor change here is the absence of the ‘M’ logo on the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Instead, you will see a vertical ‘Lenovo’ branding on the bottom left corner of the phone. According to Sudhanshu, the Lenovo K12 Note is near-identical to the Moto G9 Play in almost all aspects. One difference he did talk about, though, was the lack of 20W fast charging on the K12 Note. Instead, the phone supports 15W fast charging – and most possibly – will ship with a 15W charger.

Lenovo K12 Note specifications

Thanks to the aforementioned Google Play listing, we already know that the Lenovo K12 Note will get the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor. The variant that showed up there also featured 4GB of RAM. There could be other variants of the phone with higher or lower RAM. The K12 Note features an HD+ display with a waterdrop notch and runs Android 10 at launch.

As of now, this is pretty much all we know about the Lenovo K12 Note. It remains unclear if the company has plans to launch this phone in India. If you recall, Lenovo did gain some popularity in India with its K Series and P Series devices during the 2015-2017 period. However, with the more popular Motorola brand in their possession, Lenovo increasingly concentrated on the Moto G and Moto E lineup instead of its once-popular K Series. Will the new K12 Note mark the revival of Lenovo smartphones in India? Only time will tell!
