FAUG Launch in India Set For January 26 on Republic Day: nCore Games Releases New Cinematic Teaser

FAU-G finally has a release date. The much anticipated game developed by N-Core Games is launching on January 26. Announced as a bid to fill the vaccum left behind by the ban of PUBG Mobile, the first episode of the game is set in the backdrop of Indian forces squaring off against the PLA troops in Ladakh.

n-Core Games in a Tweet on Sunday announced the launch date with a good look at the game itself, including a rousing background score. The game shows the Galwan Clash narrative from the Indian perspectives with a strong focus on hand-to-hand combat. There are guns too, but the developers have stated more than once that this game won’t be as ‘violent’ as PUBG Mobile.

Vishal Gondal-owned nCore Games had announced they were developing the game back in September 2020. With Bollywood star Akshay Kumar in tow as the brand ambassador, FAU-G quickly garnered attention, especially as the developers took advantage of the ban on Chinese apps and games, including PUBG Mobile.

While it was widely anticipated that the game will be out before 2020 ends, n-Core games did offer a Google Play Store listing with the ability to pre-register. The developer claimed the game received a million pre-registration in just 24 hours.

But those expecting an experience similar to PUBG Mobile might be in for a surprise. While the former is billed as a battle royale game, FAU-G is being termed as an action game. The developers have said the game is based on real scenarios encountered by the armed forces of the country and the first episode will be based on the Galwan Valley clash against Chinese troops.

Here’s what the synopsis on Google Play Store has to say-

“High up on the peaks at India’s northern border, an elite fighting group projects the nation pride and sovereignty. It is a daunting task, for the most courageous. The fearless and United Guards. Join a special unit of FAUG commandos on patrol in dangerous border territory. Come face to face with the Indian enemies as you engage with hostile invaders on Indian soil.”
