MediaTek Could Also Launch the Dimensity 1100 Alongside Dimensity 1200 On Jan 20

MediaTek is hosting an event on January 20. The company is expected to launch the Dimensity 1200 SoC for smartphones. Alongside, it could also launch another processor at the event on January 20. According to a new leak from Digital Chat Station, the company could launch the MediaTek Dimensity 1100 SoC alongside the Dimensity 1200 processor. The Dimensity 1100 SoC will be a slightly toned-down version of the Dimensity 1200, according to the leak. The tipster has also revealed some key Dimensity 1100 SoC specifications ahead of its rumoured launch. MediaTek tipped to launch two processors on January 20 

MediaTek is launching the Dimensity 1200 SoC on January 20. The new mobile platform could power the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi K40 series launching soon in China. Leaked specifications suggest that the SoC is more powerful than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor. MediaTek will unveil the details on January 20. The company could also launch the Dimensity 1100 SoC on January 20.

Leaked specifications by Digital Chat Station suggest that the Dimensity 1100 SoC will launch with a lower frequency at 2.6GHz. The 6nm SoC will have four Cortex A78 performance processors at 2.6GHz and four Cortex A55 processors clocked at 2.0GHz. The GPU performance will be lower than the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. The tipster had previously stated that the Dimensity 1200 SoC will have a 1+ 3 + 4 CPU setup, with the high performance chip clocking at 3GHz, followed by three core chips at 2.6GHz. The Dimensity 1200 SoC will have four efficiency chips clocked at 2GHz.

The Dimensity 1100 SoC will also support up to 108MP camera sensor. It will come with a lower APU performance, and lower maximum refresh rate for the display.  The tipster claims that the Dimensity 1100 SoC will support up to 144Hz refresh rate for a FHD+ display. The Dimensity 1200 SoC, on the other hand, supports FHD+ resolution on a 168Hz refresh rate display.
