OPPO Reno 5 Pro 5G Launch in India Set for 18th January, Company Touts it to be a Video Expert

OPPO has confirmed the Reno 5 Pro 5G launch date in India. The company will launch its first 5G smartphone of 2020 on January 18. OPPO Reno 5 Pro was launched in China in December 2020. We can expect the smartphone to come with the same specifications in India. OPPO has confirmed that the Reno 5 Pro will launch with a MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ processor. It will be the first smartphone in India to come with the MediaTek 5G chipset. The company is also touting the Reno 5 Pro’s video recording capabilities. OPPO Reno 5 Pro launch in India on January 18, to come with MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ processor

OPPO has confirmed the Reno 5 Pro 5G launch date in India. The Reno 5 Pro sits between the standard Reno 5 and the Reno 5 Pro+ launched in China. There is no word on the launch of the other two Reno 5 smartphones in India at the moment.

Reno 5 Pro is likely to pack the same specifications found on the Chinese variant.

OPPO Reno 5 Pro price

Oppo had launched the Reno 5 Pro in China for CNY 3,399 (roughly Rs 38,300) for 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option. There is also a 12GB RAM + 256GB model priced at CNY 3,799 (roughly Rs 42,750). The smartphone is available in Glitter Blue, Aurora Blue, and Midnight Black colour options. 

Reno 5 Pro price in India is expected to be around Rs 45,000.

OPPO Reno 5 Pro specifications 

OPPO Reno 5 Pro comes with a 6.55-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. The screen has a hole-punch cutout for the 32MP front camera. The Reno 5 Pro also comes with a 90Hz refresh rate AMOLED display.

In terms of optics, the Reno 5 Pro has a quad-camera setup at the back. It features a 64MP primary lens with an aperture of f/1.7. There is also an 8MP ultrawide lens with a 119-degree FoV and an f/2.2 aperture. Lastly, there is a 2MP f/2.4 macro lens and a 2MP f/2.4 portrait lens. 

The smartphone comes with a Full Dimension Fusion (FDF) Portrait Video System for enhanced video quality and portrait effects.

Under the hood, the device draws its power from a MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ SoC. In China, the Reno 5 Pro is available in 8GB/ 12GB RAM and 128GB/ 256GB internal memory options. It packs a 4,350 mAh battery with 65W Super Flash Charge support. 

The device also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Reno 5 Pro runs Android 11-based ColorOS 11.1 out of the box. Connectivity options include 5G SA/ NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, dual-SIM, and USB Type-C port.
