The star of the show here is the active noise cancellation feature like it has always been in the series. These are very comfortable to wear and they do offer great sound quality. Features like multi-device pairing, DSEE Extreme upscaling, and wear detection are also present here.

The WF-1000XM4 are also rated to deliver clear audio during calls, a beamforming microphone and a bone-conduction sensor provide clear voice detection even in noisy environments. They also support Sony’s DSEE Extreme and 360 reality audio.
On the inside, the Sony WF-1000XM4 packs in a 6mm driver unit offer a 20% increase in magnet volume and there’s Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless audio connectivity.
