Motorola has refreshed its G-series lineup with the launch of new mid-range smartphones. The company has unveiled the Moto G53 5G and the Moto G73 5G in global markets. The Moto G73 5G is the more premium offering of the two phones. It features a MediaTek Dimensity SoC under the hood. The Moto G53 5G, on the other hand, has a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC packed inside.
Both phones come with a flat frame design. While the G53 5G’s rear panel is also flat, the G73 5G has a curved rear panel, which should aid in offering a better in-hand feel. The Moto G73 5G has been launched with a single storage option. It has been launched with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The device has been priced at EUR 299 (roughly Rs 26,500). It will be available in Lucent White and Midnight Blue colours.
The phone features a Dimensity 930 SoC under the hood. There is a 5000mAh battery packed inside. The G73 5G supports 30W fast charging out of the box. It has a dual-camera setup on the back. There is a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.8 sensor. The device also features an 8MP ultra-wide camera with support for autofocus, which allows the same sensor to shoot macro images.
For selfies, the phone has a 16MP front camera. It comes with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen has a 20:9 aspect ratio and a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. There is support for storage expansion up to 1TB via a microSD card slot. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It also supports AI face unlock. The phone has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD with an HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It has an 89.47 per cent screen-to-body ratio and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The device has a 5000mAh battery under the hood. Oddly, it comes with only 10W charging support in Europe.
Under the hood, there is a Snapdragon 480+ SoC. There is support for storage expansion up to 1TB via a microSD card. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and AI face unlock support. It boots Android 13 out of the box. The device weighs 183 grams and measures 162.7 x 74.66 x 8.19mm.
The Moto G53 5G has a dual-camera setup as well. It comes with a 50MP primary camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. Unlike the G73 5G, the G53 5G’s ultra-wide camera does not have support for autofocus for macro photos. For selfies, there is a 16MP front camera.
