Amazon Prime Video users could soon be getting a new user interface on their mobile devices. According to Jenn Salke, the head of Amazon Studios, a completely revamped user interface is in the works for the Amazon Prime Video mobile app.
If you have not been happy with the current UI situation of the Amazon Prime Video app on your iOS or Android smartphone, then worry not. The app did require a change in its interface, as there hasn’t been one in a very long time. When compared to the Netflix app, the Prime Video app has a long way to go.
In terms of what you get for what you pay, Prime Video is better than some of its competitors. The pricing is much lower than what you would pay for Netflix, and you get a lot of content. Anyway, let us talk about what to expect from the new UI.
Amazon Prime Video: New UI
As per Jenn Salke, a new UI for Amazon Prime Video is currently under development. She did not give out any more details as such, but mentioned that there is no deadline for the work, and that she was impressed with it. She also stated the new UI is much more intuitive and seamless.
We are hoping that the new interface will be less clutter, and more focused on shows and movies. Last month, a report stated that Amazon is planning on bringing ads to Prime Video. These ads would be connected to Amazon’s retail site and will show clothes and other products that are present in a show or movie. You would be able to buy a dress or shirt that a character on a show is wearing.
The new UI could include this upon rollout, and this would be great for all the Amazon Prime customers. At first, the head of Amazon made an error and stated that the team has given her a prototype phone with a completely new UI. Later on, an Amazon representative corrected her and said that she actually meant prototype UI on an already available phone.

As mentioned earlier, the Amazon Prime Video streaming service is new in the industry. It still has a long way to go in terms of content, quality, interface, and availability.
