Earlier this month, Taiwanese brand ASUS launched its latest flagship Android smartphone in India, the ZenFone 5Z. The smartphone takes on other “affordable flagship smartphones” like the OnePlus 6 and Honor 10. While only the 64GB and 128GB variants of the smartphone have been on sale so far, the 256GB storage variant will be going on sale for the first time today on Flipkart.

The ZenFone 5Z 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant will be going on sale today at 12 PM in India, exclusively via Flipkart. You will be able to choose from two color options – Meteor Silver and Midnight Blue.

ZenFone 5Z: Price in India, Offers

ASUS offers the ZenFone 5Z in three memory configurations in India – 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 256 storage. The 64GB storage variant is priced at Rs.29,999, while the 128GB variant is priced at Rs.32,999. On the other hand, the 256GB variant of the ZenFone 5Z costs Rs.36,999. That’s lower than the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant of its main rival, the OnePlus 6.

The ASUS ZenFone 5Z boasts a large 6.2-inch sized IPS LCD display with a notch at the top, 1080 x 2246 Full HD+ resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio, DCI-P3 color space coverage, and Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top. Under the hood, like most other 2018 Android flagship handsets, the ZenFone 5Z is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 10nm octa-core processor clocked at 2.7 GHz with an Adreno 630 GPU. When it comes to memory, the ZenFone 5Z comes in three different configurations – 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. While there is no dedicated microSD card slot on the ZenFone 5Z, it does support memory expansion thanks to a Hybrid Dual-SIM configuration.

In the camera department, ZenFone 5Z comes with a 12MP + 8MP dual-camera setup on the back with phase-detection autofocus and a dual-tone LED flash. The primary sensor is coupled with an f/1.8 aperture while the secondary 8MP sensor is coupled with an f/2.0 aperture. Users also get a Pro Mode in the camera app with support for capturing photos in RAW format. When it comes to video, the smartphone offers support for 4K video capture at up to 60 fps. On the front of the handset is an 8MP snapper with an f/2.0 aperture and an 83-degree wide-angle lens.

The smartphone is fueled by a 3300mAh capacity battery that uses ASUS BoostMaster AI-powered intelligent fast charging to extend the battery lifespan. As for biometric authentication, the ZenFone 5Z comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and also supports the Face Unlock feature. The smartphone measures 153 x 75.65 x 7.85mm and weighs in at 155 grams. As for software, ASUS ZenFone 5Z currently runs on the Android 8.0 Oreo-based ZenUI 5.0. ASUS has confirmed that it will be upgrading the ZenFone 5Z to Android P.
