Samsung has confirmed the launch of a new smartphone in India. The South Korean tech giant will kick off 2023 with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy F04. The device will be among the most affordable Galaxy F-series phones in India. The company has not only revealed the pricing details but also confirmed some specifications of the phone ahead of the launch.

The Samsung Galaxy F04 is confirmed to be available for purchase via Flipkart. The company has also confirmed the pricing details of the phone. The Galaxy F04 will be priced under Rs 8,000 in India, according to the teaser on Flipkart. Samsung also revealed that the phone will launch with up to 8GB of RAM, which will be a combination of physical and virtual RAM, which the company calls RAM Plus.
The device will launch with a Gloss Design. Samsung revealed that the phone will have a curved frame and back. The rear panel houses two cutouts for the dual-camera setup. There is also an LED flash next to the camera sensors. The Galaxy F04 will be available in Jade Purple and Opal Green colours.
On the front, the phone has a waterdrop notch at the top of the display. While the top and side bezels are fairly thin, the chin is quite thick in comparison. The SIM tray is on the left edge, whereas the power and volume keys are on the right.
Moving on to the specifications, the Galaxy F04 is confirmed to sport a 6.51-inch display with an HD+ resolution. Since it is a budget offering, the phone will have a standard 60Hz refresh rate.
There will be a MediaTek Helio P35 SoC, which is a fairly entry-level chipset. Samsung has also confirmed that the phone will pack a 5000mAh battery under the hood. The phone is likely to support 10W charging via a USB Type-C port.
The phone will run Android 12 out of the box. It will have a layer of One UI 4.1 on top. Samsung has also confirmed that the phone will get two OS upgrades, which is quite impressive for an entry-level smartphone.
The camera specifications are currently under wraps. A recent report claimed that the phone could feature a 13MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, there could be a 5MP front camera. The device is suspected to be a rebadged Samsung Galaxy A04e, which was launched last year in India. The Galaxy F04 India price is tipped to start at Rs 7,499 for the base model in India.
