The iPhone 13 launch is said to be on time this year. The claim is made on the basis of the A15 chip going into mass production ahead of the schedule.

According to MacRumors, citing a DigiTimes report, Apple supplier TSMC will begin the mass production of the A15 chip. The next-generation chip will be used in the upcoming 2021 iPhone models. The report does not give many details on the Apple A15 chip’s features. However, we can expect a performance bump while improving power efficiency compared to the A14 chip found on the iPhone 12 series.

The earlier than scheduled mass production hints at the typical iPhone launch cycle in September. This is contrary to a recent report that suggested a November launch owing to chip shortage.

Last year, the company had to delay the launch by a month owing to supply chain constraints. Previously, renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had made a similar claim of the iPhone 13’s launch in September 2021.

Apple is believed to make some minor improvements in the iPhone 13 series. While the design is likely to remain the same, the notch is said to get smaller. Apple will do so by repositioning the earpiece to the top bezel. Face ID will still be present and there is uncertainty over the inclusion of an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The Pro models are tipped to feature a 120Hz Pro-Motion display. Apple will also launch the iPhone 13 series in a matte black colour option, according to reports.
