Samsung 65W Fast Charger (EP-TA865) Clears BIS India Certification

Samsung is reportedly working on a 65W fast charger. The charger has already been spotted on some certification websites in the past. The latest development suggests that the 65W will be available in India upon launch. Samsung’s 65W fast charger has passed the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website. The listing reveals the model number (EP-TA865) of the fast charger. Previously, it was spotted on the TUV SUD certification website. We can expect upcoming Samsung smartphones to feature support for 65W fast charging. Currently, most of Samsung’s smartphones feature 25W fast charging support, with the highest being 45W charging. Let’s take a look at the Samsung 65W fast charger BIS listing.

Samsung 65W fast charger passes BIS certification, likely to feature in future smartphones

Samsung could soon launch a smartphone with 65W fast charging support. The company’s 65W fast charger has passed the BIS website.

The BIS website listing reveals the model number of the fast charger, which is EP-TA865. It was previously spotted on the TUV SUD certification website. The new charger supports a maximum of 20V or 3.25A. This simply means that it will support a 65W fast charging solution.

The alleged charger was recently spotted in the wild. The live images of the fast charger were uploaded on LetsGoDigital. It has the same model number as the one listed on the BIS and TUV SUD certification websites. The images reveal that the charger will have a USB Type-C slot. This means that users will get a USB Type-C to Type-C cable alongside. The images also reveal that it will support PD(Power Delivery) and PPS(Programmable Power Supply).

There is no word on which Samsung smartphones will get support for 65W fast charging. We can expect the upcoming Fold smartphones to feature support. The next-generation Galaxy S22 could also support 65W fast charging.

Samsung is late to the fast charging party as competitors like OPPO, Vivo, Realme, and Xiaomi have already launched devices with 65W or faster-charging support. However, it is always better late than never.
