Truecaller Now Has a Directory of COVID-19 Hospital Helplines To Fight The Second Wave

Amid the devastating second wave of COVID-19 Truecaller, the accurate Caller ID and telephone search engine, today launched a Covid Hospital directory for users in India. The developers of the app have included the directory right into the app and this can be accessed from either the menu or the dialer. This is going to be a big help for Indians to find nearby COVID hospitals and call them to enquire about beds and oxygen cylinders.

According to the company, the directory includes telephone numbers and addresses of COVID designated hospitals from multiple states across the country, sourced from official government databases. Truecaller has made it easier for users to search the information quickly with the help of a search button. Do note that the directory didn’t assure hospital bed availability. You need to either call the hospitals or visit them physically to check the ground report.

“We wanted to quickly introduce a simple directory of important numbers for Covid-related services. We have started with this hospital list and we’re working to add more verified sources soon. This is one among the many ways we’re helping with Covid relief efforts. We offer the support of the entire organisation and the Truecaller platform, for anyone that we can help,“ said Rishit Jhunjhunwala, MD India, Truecaller.

It seems that all the technology brands and foreign countries are aware of the situation India is facing currently, the cases are not ready to stop and the death toll is also rising every single day. On Wednesday the number of active cases crossed 3 million and in the past 24 hours, 3.79 lakh new cases are registered with 3,596 total deaths in one day.

Considering the worst-case scenario, several smartphone manufacturers like Apple, OPPO, Vivo, Xiaomi, and more have announced to provide help from their side. Apple pledged to donate support and relief efforts, while Microsoft has announced to help India with the purchase of oxygen concentrates. Search giant Google has also said to contribute Rs 135 crore funding to help the country to fight against the deadly virus.
