Realme launched Realme 8 5G last week in India, billing it as the cheapest 5G smartphone. Now while that tag has now been claimed by Oppo with the A53s launch on Tuesday, the Realme 8 5G is going on its first sale today. The latest offering from Realme, Realme 8 5G is India’s first phone featuring Mediatek Dimensity 700. It’s claim to fame is its 5G support under Rs 15,000. The phone also packs a large 5000 mAh battery. On the back of the device is a 48MP triple-camera setup. Unlike the 4G variant, the display is an LCD and comes with 90Hz refresh rate support.

The Realme 8 5G will go on sale today at 12:00 PM. The smartphone will be available on Flipkart as well as Realme’s official e-store. It will be available for sale across the country today. The Realme 8 5G comes in two storage variants of 4GB+128GB priced at Rs 14,999 and 8GB+128GB at Rs 16,999. It comes in two colours – Supersonic Blue and Supersonic Black.
Users can get additional Rs 200 and Rs 75 cashback by paying through Mobikwik and Freecharge respectively, on the Realme website. Users can also get 5% extra off on the Flipkart website with Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card. Those who buy the Realme 8 5G from Flipkart would be eligible to buy Google Nest Hub at Rs 5,999 respectively. Flipkart is also offering a 10% instant discount on HDFC Bank Mastercard Credit card and Bank of Baroda Mastercard debit card. This offer is only for first-time transactions. The Realme 8 5G is also available through No Cost EMI with the Flipkart Axis bank card. Users can get up to Rs 750 cashback on using HDFC Credit Card and up to Rs 1000 off on HDFC Bank Debit Card and Credit Card EMI transactions.
Realme 8 5G Specifications
The Realme 8 5G comes with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with a 1080 x 2400 resolution. It has 600 nits of brightness and comes with 90Hz refresh rate support.
The phone is packed with MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC for 5G network support. The processor is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone also features Dynamic RAM Expansion technology, which converts storage into virtual RAM.
On the back is a triple-camera setup. The device has a 48MP primary camera sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. It also features a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. There is a 16MP front camera for the selfies as well.
The device packs a 5000 mAh battery under the hood. It comes with 18W fast charging support.
The phone runs Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 out of the box. It weighs 185 grams and is 8.5mm thick.
